Hello, I am trying to get some advice.
We are a small development of 10 houses on a private gated road. Currently the gates open simply by being driven up to.
We are about to change this system to having an intercom system on the outside which will have a ‘trades’ button, which will operate early morning to early evening, to gain access. Similarly there will be a button which can be pressed on the inside to allow exit from the development.
My question is, do we need to officially inform anyone at Royal Mail of this change in access?
Many thanks in advance.

You don't need to inform them in an official way, but I strongly recommend speaking to the regular postie and perhaps popping down to the delivery office, or calling them, and asking for a note to be placed warning posties of the affected addresses and the reason why. This will hopefully avoid non-delivery due to no access available. To be blunt unless previously warned the posties are so tight to time these days that they can't and wont spend time trying to work out how to gain access, you giving them a friendly warning will avoid this situation.Gizmodo wrote: ↑08 Mar 2022, 21:26Hello, I am trying to get some advice.
