Can I collect a tracked parcel from Royal Mail centre prior to delivery?

Hi.
I will contact Royal Mail when phones open in morning but wondering if anyone can help me in meantime.
Is it possible to collect a tracked item from a delivery centre prior to get getting delivered. Basically the company posting it said it was posted on Thursday (tracked 48). Parcel hadn’t arrived by today. I contacted company and they just said it had been sent.
It wasn’t until 2020hrs this evening I got a message from Royal Mail saying they had received it and it won’t be with me until Thursday. I need this item for a break away. What’s the chances of me being able to collect it from delivery centre myself tomorrow (Tuesday). I have tracking number, senders address etc.

There are in even the smallest of delivery offices literally 1000s of tracked parcels each and every day so although they'll know it is in the office, they won't know exactly where it is in the process. It may be in the van, on a frame, on a trolley waiting to be processed, waiting to be loaded etc.

What you MIGHT be able to do is ask for an inflight change of delivery date, however, this does depend on it reaching the Delivery Office on the correct day. https://www.royalmail.com/receiving/cha ... ry-options

What's the tracking number? It'll show the last place that the item was scanned
