The address on my post office receipt is wrong
I sent a package abroad with Royal Mail Tracked and Signed and I dropped it off at the Post Office, however, on the receipt, where it would normally have the 1st line of the address(after "1st Line of address:" on the receipt) it has the recipient's name instead. It's been 2 and a half weeks since it was dropped off at the PO and since the 16th of September, it's been in the preliminary import check.

The receipt won't have any bearing on the delivery of the item. The receipt just shows that you have paid for a particular service.
The actual package itself will inform the various postal authorities what service is paid for, and the actual address written on to the parcel is the one they will use. They won't have any access to the details on the receipt so that in itself won't cause any delays.
However, there are still delays in the Customs and Border Authorities of most countries (including the UK) so that's the most likely reason for the delay.

Just to let you know, the destination country is Germany and as it says on the link, the impact on delivery performance should be minimal. I hope I won't have to wait too long until they receive it
