Letter delayed. Is it stuck at LONDON AMU?

Post by pmelo »

Hi,

Could someone please help me understand if my item is stuck in London, perhaps is there anything that could be done to "unstuck" it?
Tracking number LB267998924GB, envelope/letter from UK to Brazil.
When tracking it, the last info I get is from 20 days ago.

Item Leaving the UK
LONDON AMU
I've posted to Brazil before, and their system has not yet shown anything about entering Brazil (from the best of my understanding), like it normally does. And it's just paper, I wouldn't expect any issues with customs there, right?

Thank you

Sad-but-true story behind it:
My letter was just an a4 envelope, but it's an important document that I need delivered for my overseas non-profit.
I'm not so worried about losing the 11£ of postage, it's just that if the paperwork I sent doesn't get delivered, it might mean the non-profit can lose the chance to get our first grant
I know it's hard times everywhere, and I understand it's not like arbitrary or random people like me are entitled to any special treatment, but this delivery means a lot to me, and potentially can help me help others

It will be in Brazillian customs.

It doesn't need to be interesting to customs to get stuck there.

Also, Brazil Post did declare covid was slowing stuff down, just at the beginning of this month:

https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app ... t-bulletin
Latest Update: 7 June 2021
End date: Ongoing
Incident: Coronavirus

Original Incident
Brazil has put special measures in place from Monday 16 March, to limit the spread of Coronavirus. Correios need to comply and is also likely to have a reduced workforce available, and not be able to deliver all mail to specifications. Signature on delivery is suspended and delays to mail services can be expected.

Latest Update
Brazil Post has advised, cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed among operational staff at the Curitiba international mail processing centre (BRCWB). Quarantine and other public health measures have been implemented at this centre, resulting in a reduction in the workforce. As a result, delays are expected in the processing, customs clearance and delivery of all inbound mail types.

Thank you guys,

Letter arrived yesterday :nana
The local post on the receiving end said that there were almost no flights between the two countries for a while, hence the delay.

They just didn't update the tracking.
