Tracing item update

Hi,
I have sent abroad an item ( letter ) on the 12.04 , special delivery etc. that was meant to reach the recipient within 3-5 working days.
I have a tracking number but it seems that since 14.04 there is no update to where my item is and it's not with the recipient.
Please can you give me some guidance how to get details and help me with the tracking?

It was put on the plane on the 14th. So it is probably stuck in Bulgarian customs.

Hi there,
I have requested information about the item that was sent as a special delivery (3-5 days) ,sent on the 12.04.2021 to Bulgaria .
As per the reply I have received here, the item is probably stuck at Bulgaria custom .
When I have contacted the Bulgarian authority to chase the item as it's VERY important ( hence the special delivery request) I have been told that the item is still in UK . I understand the delay due to Corona virus etc.and 3-5 days are acceptable, but the item is 14 days late, which cause me massive complications. If the delivery was not guaranteed , customers should have been made aware , but I am not picking a fight, I am just confused and upset with the lack of information available to trace where is my item ( letter).
Before I begin a legal proceedings could you please confirm and provide a proof that the item has left the country ( as far as I am aware it should be Langley HWDC that is dealing with the posting of the item)

We can’t provide proof that it has gone on the plane because we aren’t Royal Mail. I am just telling you what the tracking says.

When you say that you contacted “the Bulgarian Authority”, who do you mean exactly? Because postal services usually won’t say that it is stuck in customs, even when that is the case.

Royal Mail don’t sell guaranteed services for destinations outside of the UK.

I don't think even Royal Mail would be able to provide proof that an item has been loaded onto the plane. The last scan that RM do will be when it's placed into the mail bag. After that it's probably out of their hands as to when the mail bag gets put on the plane

I have call Bulgaria customs , Bulgarian Post office etc. they all say the letter is not in the country- I am confused if it was on the plane on the 14th why is not there yet? Are the letters send via diversion ( even the express ones)?
I wish there was a number I can call to help further ,so at least I know where to expect the item ,although is so late for its purpose and I might need to claim the insurance, I would prefer to rather find out where it is and when is expected to be received.

If you can think of any other advice or to point me to a direction that I might have more details I will highly appreciate it !
