Lapsing own duty for another

Post by Downeagle »

I seem to think this was a topic a couple of weeks ago but not sure of the outcome.

We have been instructed this week and ongoing to take a part of a lapsed duty due to long term sickness and if it means leaving part of our duty so be it. This comes as the 37 hour week has been introduced without any changes (as yet),
Our colleagues would prefer to do their time (or excess time) delivering their own duty, obviously the lapsed duty 2ill have tracks and specials that need to go out. Should we just accept this or is there a official stance from the CWU and if so isn’t it another way to get us to do overtime by the back door?

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We've been doing this since Christmas. They're hoping that you won't want to leave your "own" round in and do extended to clear whatever you would leave in otherwise. Some do, some don't.

Our managers were way ahead of Stuart Thompson on this one.....I think they deserve a medal.
