I have people in my office who only take two thirds of a walk so they can have frequent toilet stops. I have others who can’t use a trolley because of back issues so have a van all of the time. I have a knee issue which my doctor and the Royal Mail physio they sent me to have confirmed. My manager tells me to take what I can so I do.
And under 50 houses doesn’t mean I have mail for all of those houses. On a busy day it’s about 30 maybe. So I’m bringing back 20 addresses but even then I’ll try to deliver nhs stuff or cards.
And my rota man is sound. Sometimes I’ll do half his walk if he needs to finish early for the football.
This week in our section, 4 walks have been cut out of 25 and everyone expected to take, it works out at a loop per walk apart from a certain walk where new builds are next to it and has had 2-2.15 hrs dumped on it!! I cover said walk and it’s now the biggest in the office by far, it’s just terrible lazy management! There’s a couple of rurals and their loop is the other side of the postcode so once they’ve done that it’s about a 40 minute drive to their duty!
