So I'll ask the obvious question, you dont deliver to low letterboxes and if they don't answer the door you write out a 739 card, what do you do with the 739 once you've written it out? do you bend down and deliver it through the low letterbox?FilthyBloke wrote: ↑31 Dec 2022, 07:55I don’t deliver to low letter boxes. We should be able to refuse to deliver to any low letter boxes. Customers should have suitable 21st Century letter boxes which fit A4 letters and are at least 4 feet from the ground. Accumulatively throughout the country it would save a lot of time on delivery and injuries.
Xmas is the worst time of year when people have the tiny letterboxes from year 1915, having to knock to hand people their xmas cards.
As for small, tiny 1915 letterboxes I knock the door again and if not in I 739 every item, including junk. You are not meant to bend anything so I don’t.

So first time you 739 and every other time you don't bother you just take back to office and endorse 739, how is the customer supposed to know you have attempted delivery and taken back to office because you dont like their letterbox? sorry I don't believe you, I mean what could possibly go wrong?

For the low letterbox I write on it ‘inaccessible.’

Every single low letterbox I have put in the hazard book for that walk. I have a problem with one of my knees and Royal Mail are aware of it. Manager tells me to do what I can so I do. I have just under 50 low letter boxes on my walk and normally I will deliver to about ten of them.
After that, I’ll alternate it the next day or rota man will deal with it.

I see, so you do deliver to some low letterboxes "normally I will deliver to about ten of them" not quite what you said in your earlier post, I'm glad I don't rotate with youNo I don’t kill them off. I put them back in a tray or even back in the fitting.

As well as all the flats, houses with steps, long driveways, awkward gates, odd houses at the end of a street meaning I have to dead walk.
I’d tell you exactly where to stick those letters if I was that Rota.

Re: Cwu where are you 13 walks going
I have people in my office who only take two thirds of a walk so they can have frequent toilet stops. I have others who can’t use a trolley because of back issues so have a van all of the time. I have a knee issue which my doctor and the Royal Mail physio they sent me to have confirmed. My manager tells me to take what I can so I do.theargyspy wrote: ↑31 Dec 2022, 09:24I see, so you do deliver to some low letterboxes "normally I will deliver to about ten of them" not quite what you said in your earlier post, I'm glad I don't rotate with youNo I don’t kill them off. And under 50 houses doesn’t mean I have mail for all of those houses. On a busy day it’s about 30 maybe. So I’m bringing back 20 addresses but even then I’ll try to deliver nhs stuff or cards.
And my rota man is sound. Sometimes I’ll do half his walk if he needs to finish early for the football.

Re: Cwu where are you 13 walks going
This week in our section, 4 walks have been cut out of 25 and everyone expected to take, it works out at a loop per walk apart from a certain walk where new builds are next to it and has had 2-2.15 hrs dumped on it!! I cover said walk and it’s now the biggest in the office by far, it’s just terrible lazy management! There’s a couple of rurals and their loop is the other side of the postcode so once they’ve done that it’s about a 40 minute drive to their duty!
