Sorry, that is completely farcical. RM has NEVER worked 'normal hours' due to the nature of the business and the logistics.
As for 'if it doesn't suit just leave' well, brilliantly arrogant tosh! The fact is many took the job because of childcare considerations and are in place at RM BEFORE any changes are made to the hours.
In fact, going by your logic surely YOU should get another job as the present starts are clearly too early for you.....makes us wonder why you took the job in the first place.
And of course, let's hear the positive feedback come flooding in from households and business when their mail is even later than it is now.
