Evidence suggests that mail volumes are declining. A view that is shared by a number of postal administrations.
Yep.

However this does not significantly reduce the workload in delivery offices or across the outdoor element.
And the relevance is? How many times is that same old alleged connection going to be trotted out?

The CWU reserves judgment.

Good old CWU; all things to all men, but ultimately still sitting on thier hands. God help us all.......

The relevance is that it does not effect how long we are out on delivery a point I raised and you replied to . As to how many times "the same old alleged connection is going to be trotted out" I did state that his was from an official CWU document so this has not been trotted out again it was a clarification of the Unions official position - perhaps you missed that and thought it was a biased post by a delivery postman. :Very Happy

That was a clarification, was it? Seemed like the usual fence-sitting to me.... :hmmmm

No, it clearly mentioned the CWU; that's why I posted --

although it's also clear that it was posted by a biased delivery postman...

Good grief, a forum that proports to be well-informed and STILL believes mail volume hasn't fallen??? It would be funny if it wasn't such a serious demonstration of being clueless. Remind me to tell the USPS that it doesn't need to retire staff or cut back delivery days to five a week instead of six and that the internet or mobile phones are a figment of their imagination, like every other postal operator these days. We must be the only postal service that defies gravity too.

Sorry, I'm with Tman and others on this, mail volume is in decline and the sooner you wake up to that, and the fact father christmas doesn't exist, the better. Denial is one approach I guess but it won't help you.

That's another mistake Andy, ie never underestimate the "opposition". Do you really think either of them got to where they are by being ill-informed?
Nothing very :funneh "funneh" about it if you're staring redundancy in the face, I wouldn't think.

Well, Mandy certainly didn't get where he is by being well informed. Anyone can buy a place in the House of Lords. Few, if any in there actually EARNED their position. They either inherited it, or bought it.

He is surrounded by Yes Men. And it's only when he tried to implement his rediculous plans, that he was confronted with reality. THAT is what I found funny. Not the risk of redundancy. Which of course, I am at just as much risk from, as everyone else in RM.

He wasn't even elected to his current position. He was put there by Brown, to Privatise RM. Just look at his past record, if you think that he's in any way competant to perform his duties. :arrrghhh

And as for New Labour: With the exception of Brown. Who is largely responsible for the current Banking crisis (well informed? Don't make me laugh!). They are working with information provided by Mandy. In other words: It's the blind leading the blind!
