Well, Mandy certainly didn't get where he is by being well informed. Anyone can buy a place in the House of Lords. Few, if any in there actually EARNED their position. They either inherited it, or bought it.
He is surrounded by Yes Men. And it's only when he tried to implement his rediculous plans, that he was confronted with reality. THAT is what I found funny. Not the risk of redundancy. Which of course, I am at just as much risk from, as everyone else in RM.
He wasn't even elected to his current position. He was put there by Brown, to Privatise RM. Just look at his past record, if you think that he's in any way competant to perform his duties.
And as for New Labour: With the exception of Brown. Who is largely responsible for the current Banking crisis (well informed? Don't make me laugh!). They are working with information provided by Mandy. In other words: It's the blind leading the blind!
