Ours regularly arrive on Monday morning but latest recently has been a Thursday
I guess it's the same in a lot of offices but we have piles of D2D under frames as we don't have enough full-time staff to sort & prep walks so D2D end up being the sacrificed
Who really cares about D2D's I've not seen one customer or MP complaining as the D2D's haven't arrived on time, in fact the opposite seems the case customers moaning when they do get post it always includes, in their words, the junk mail.
Everything has a knock on effect.
If you don't throw in the door to door on Saturday (DM26), then they become Mondays work. You start them on Monday morning but get swamped and get told to start letters sorting, which you are already behind for. You look like you will be failing the packets so manager tells you to start sorting packets. You get out of office so late that you have no time to do any loops with mail, just packets, and even have to bring some back. You are set up to fail the whole week, and it's only Monday.
I'd love an early/job and knock on a Saturday, but DM26 doesn't allow for it.
What's the betting if you get back and hour early on a Saturday and there's still Tracked to be delivered the priority will be delivered those and not the D2D's?
Regardless the jobs not changing because of DM26 and we already find time to throw in the D2D's.
Of course the proviso for this is that the D2D's arrive for the Saturday.....
RM need to make sure that the office that sends them to MCs does so early enough to reach the MC in time for wave 1 dispatches Friday night, giving the option of wave 2 if the wave 1 is blown out. I wonder what the plan will be if both wave 1 and wave 2 dispatches are blown out.
You are going to be 3 people doing 4 walks in DM26 so plenty more work to fill the spare time.
Not on a Saturday we won't when only Tracked, Specials and 1c are going out? I did that today for 2 duties and was back well before our present finishing time.

This was my point, I can easily do both sides now on a 7 hour Saturday, they are making my walk smaller and Saturday is 7.40 hours.

That's what I don't get why does Saturday need to be longer, when we already cope OK now with D2D's etc.
Well I worked this Sat gone under dm26 and it was a shitshow, delivering to the last minute and no time to put any d2d's in, only about 20% of the frames in the office got any of the d2d's in. We was fully staffed but the reduction of people in on a Sat makes it a tough day.

We don't have much in the way of non drivers, but everybody was needed on delivery.
And don't believe everything you have been told about who's doing what in regards to dm26, it changes by the day at our place to try and get it to work.

CWU talking about doing all the D2Ds or being a van helper. It's like they've no idea about what is done day to day by a postman. As proven when they said about us doing 10,000 steps a day at the moment. Clueless.

Saturday's tend to be one of quieter days of the week, so if a duty is clearing during the week then it should clear on a Saturday. We're usually so short staffed on a Saturday that we've virtually been running DM26 on half our duties already for over a year.

Very shortly the finish times will be extended to 07:30am possibly 8am so expect your last runs from the MC to arrive later.

The sheet with our provisional DM26 times went up a few days ago (28 days notice, more like 2.8 days) and I thought one of the start times was a typo - 1120 for old contract PT made no sense. In the context of a possible 8AM+ first wave, that seems less bizzare.

No real changes in arrival times for the mail into our MC. Some late lorries due to trouble on the roads.
