Who really cares about D2D's I've not seen one customer or MP complaining as the D2D's haven't arrived on time, in fact the opposite seems the case customers moaning when they do get post it always includes, in their words, the junk mail.
Everything has a knock on effect.
If you don't throw in the door to door on Saturday (DM26), then they become Mondays work. You start them on Monday morning but get swamped and get told to start letters sorting, which you are already behind for. You look like you will be failing the packets so manager tells you to start sorting packets. You get out of office so late that you have no time to do any loops with mail, just packets, and even have to bring some back. You are set up to fail the whole week, and it's only Monday.

I'd love an early/job and knock on a Saturday, but DM26 doesn't allow for it.

Regardless the jobs not changing because of DM26 and we already find time to throw in the D2D's.

You are going to be 3 people doing 4 walks in DM26 so plenty more work to fill the spare time.

Don't forget that if the Monday is the "heavy day" for your walk then you're going to have 2, maybe 3 trays, 4 if your unlucky, trays of mech for your walk.

Of course SP, that’s a given.
I think a lot of people are happy (rightly) to have more Saturdays off, without realising that under DM26 that when you are in on a Saturday the office needs to be ‘Monday ready’.

Go on then show us how you work out we'll get 4 trays for 50% of an existing duty when we only ½ tray at the start of the week now for a full duty, purely from memory the duty I've been on this week had ½ tray Mon, ½ tray Tuesday, ½ tray Weds, ¾ tray Thurs, 1 tray Fri, ½ tray Sat

Not on a Saturday we won't when only Tracked, Specials and 1c are going out? I did that today for 2 duties and was back well before our present finishing time.

Let’s hope that is the case

At least for large parts of the year

Morale might improve

And we need to remember not every job outside of Royal Mail goes at 100% all the time day in day out

How long do you think it will be before local management increase peoples workload?
How long do you think it will before before middle management tell local management they must lapse more?

There is word from management that after Christmas when this new system of DM26 has been imposed that there will be further revisions. Particularly those offices that have gone for 9 day fortnites etc who have longer outdoor spans.

Increasing productivity and cutting costs is the only agenda. DM26 is meant to save on paying overtime but it also about so much more!

Of course the proviso for this is that the D2D's arrive for the Saturday.....

This was my point, I can easily do both sides now on a 7 hour Saturday, they are making my walk smaller and Saturday is 7.40 hours.
