Blimey. Why don't they just make it so much later that it turns up the following day and then people think they're getting it early again?! :chuckle

In 10 to 15 years I think we may look on this as a golden era - especially when we will doing the official 2nd delivery on Wednesday or Thursday.

I've heard my area described as semi-rural but I wouldn't have thought of it as rural at all. I would rather have my post at 4.15 than not at all. I'm still convinced my post from monday and tuesday has not been delivered. I don't really want to get into what my postie said as although I'm furious I don't think it's fair if he's not here to defend himself. There are two sides to every story and although I feel like I'm being lied to, maybe he really does believe the crap he's telling me. I wish everyone at the royal mail was as helpful as you lot :Very Happy

Oh sorry whiskey, I didn't mean for you to put your postie on the spot, just a general idea of the excuses so we could figure out what was going on. Hope you have a great christmas, wish all customers were as patient as you :dance

Well, two years on and I found my own solution to getting my post. I joined the TNS survey panel. Now I get all the test post perfectly on the right days although my magazine subscriptions regularly turn up late or not at all ........Coincidence?

All I would like is my post. I still have the same postie. I feel like I'm deliberately not getting my personal post because I am now part of TNS. I have every detail of every bit of post I've had for the last few years. Unfortunately I'm starting to feel like the only way to get a complaint heard is to complain via social media. Suddenly things seem to get resolved when it's all done in public. I'm so annoyed.

Nice theory - however 1 simple fact gets in the way.

No one in Royal Mail should know that you are in the TNS as the service you would be receiving wouldn't be an accurate reflection of your Delivery Offices' performance.

Check the TNS information pack and there may be a special way you can complain. However, the official way is best way to go and this will also help the TNS surveys as well. Ring 08457 740 740 and start the process. If that does not help you can always escalate it to the Escalated Customer Resolution Team and then the Postal Review Panel, and finally the Postal Redress Service (POSTRS). However you have to follow each step in the process through the proper sequence otherwise they pass it back to the lower tier of complaints.

Before I worked for Royal Mail my wife was on the TNS survey panel and it made no difference whatsoever to delivery times, and there were a considerable number of questions about mail received ( first or second class / size of envelope or packet / stamped, metered, PPI, DSA / UK or international ) but no questions I remember about time of delivery.

I know it's all meant to be secret but anyone who has ever participated must know it's pretty obvious from the mail you receive and the posting packs with the senders address on that turn up every week. I have never discussed my participation with anyone.

I apologise for ranting but I am beyond frustrated with the royal mail. When I started to have problems everyone here was so helpful, it was the first place I turned to. I would rather not start ranting on public media.

Lounge Lizard, you are asked about what time you received your post now. I also note everything on paper as a reminder for if TNS query anything later on. I can live with the late time I get my post, it's the not turning up at all that annoys me.

I admit I haven't read all of the posts on this topic so I'm possibly repeating someone else.

Have you tried posting a letter to yourself every day for a week or two? My own view is that if you are not getting post on a Mon and Tue then that is because there is nothing for you. Wed, Thu and Fri are busier and if you are getting post those days then your postie is completing his delivery regardless of sheduled finish time. If you weren't getting post on W, Th, Fri I would suspect that your postie was working to his time and not completing his duty.

Sats are busier now and maybe your postie is working to his time that day. Maybe he wants to get home to wife/kids or is a footy fan.

I've been a postie for over 10 years and my view is that the peaks/troughs of letter traffic are more pronounced now with DSA. I think in the past the MC ironed out the peaks/troughs a bit ie they held a bit of bulk mail back on busy days to fill in the quiet ones in a few days time.

Also last week I noticed that we delivered the Radio Times as DSA mail on Sat. Until now it was first class on a Thursday.

That's interesting, thanks. The problem with regular non delivery was 2 years ago. I do get post every day now. The problem is that although my TNS survey post turns up on time, my personal post and magazine subscriptions are very late or not at all. It sounds like that type of post ie. non royal mail/bulk post is treated very differently but TNS do also test for that.

A few weeks ago I had to ask my bank to send me a new PIN for my credit card. (It is so long since I've used it I've forgotten the PIN and with Christmas upon us I suspect I might need it soon.) They said it would arrive in a few days. It arrived by DSA eight days later.

Have always found DSA takes longer, my credit Card statement takes 5 days longer than it used to when, RM handled it end to end.
