The only way to defeat this without unofficial industrial action, is to do your job properly and do no favours, come in on time, don't come in on your day off, take your breaks, follow cut off procedure, don't take the vans homes overnight and don't use your car.
Not rocket science.

Commit to deliver which R.M want .So come what may we stay out till everythings delivered.
Using Scan in Scan out and P.D.A actuals to balance annualised hours over the year
In theory you could leave the job owing R.M money

Clash, even if we are walking 5/6 miles a day and not 10/12 - the end result, as witnessed with colleagues waiting on hip and knee replacement operations, is that the CURRENT workload (however many miles that is) is detrimental to our long term health. Increasing the amount we currently walk by 20-30% should logically lead to the same injuries and deteriorated health outcomes occurring sooner and/or to more of us.
I think the physical nature of the job is now so great that people need to approach it in the same way they would any sporting endeavour.
Warm up, stretch, optimum nutrition, hydration, warm down. Rest.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Cwu where are you 13 walks going
i think there is about 60 deliverys in ours not sure how many staff in the office , no planners involved just what the managers think posties can doted_e_bear wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 15:47Disregarding how ridiculous this idea is, is there any criteria like a percentage of existing duties? say 13 to go but from how many?
Or is there any actual sensible planning involved using the PDA info etc.
We haven't been told anything yet at our place I've only heard about it on here.

Just haul back what you can’t deliver if it’s unmanageable. f**k em. Won’t be getting clear offices if duties are ridiculous.

It's not about being Usain Bolt. If you were playing Sunday league football you would probably still stretch your hamstrings before the game.sindba wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 16:57Lol. We're posties not f***ing Usain Bolt!clashcityrocker wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 16:47

People can't complain about the physicality of the job and its potential for life changing injuries and then not bother taking the most basic of actions to prevent those injuries.

We already do take basic actions. You can't not. Rest, hydration, clothing etc. But you're talking about acting like professional bloody sportspeople.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑30 Dec 2022, 17:05It's not about being Usain Bolt. If that's even necessary then Royal Mail is dead, because they won't be able to recruit or retain.

Re: Cwu where are you 13 walks going
To be honest you shouldn't need to stretch and warm up to complete a delivery but nutrition, hydration and basic fitness levels are important.
It's no longer a job where you can afford to carry around any excess baggage. You can't really complain about the damage to hips, knees and ankles if you're carrying the weight of a delivery bag around your waist.

I’m getting a head band and leg warmers.

Actually human bodies are 'designed' to do that. It's the human race and evolution that has evolved it out of us.
