Spoke to 3 lads who together decided to go in today. All with young families and down to their last pennies. All have asked our union rep for help to be met with same "we're all in the same boat" answer. You can see the anguish they're are going through. Speaking to them it was very hard for me to feel any sort of anger towards them crossing the picket line.
Peoples savings are getting exhausted, mental health being kicked from pillar to post. You can talk about the future but for many its about the here and now.
So Royal Mail AND the CWU get this sorted, please.
A strike breaker is a strike breaker!! There is no excuse, never ever cross a picket line .
Me and my wife both work for RM and I agree the financial strain is tough and causing issues but there is no excuse for going in
These strike breakers will only be too happy to benefit from any gains that result from strike action. If it were up to me any scab would have their pay and conditions frozen where they are. To Benefit from others sacrifices is not on!

I’m not an ex phg. If you’re losing £700 me and my wife will be losing £1400.
UCW went on strike for 6 weeks in the 70s 3 weeks in the 80s, since I joined RM in the 90s I’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve been out officially and unofficial. Generations have fought for these’perk’.

We all have our own different red lines. That is why Thompson has absolutely no chance of getting his ever so generous offer agreed by 50% of the membership.

They have far more members, pay higher subs and are in multiple industry’s so unlikely to be out on strike at the same time, that’s why they can pay wages. It should be a conversation the CWU has with member if we wish to pay higher subs when this is all over

As a member of the CWU, we haven’t had a national strike since 2009. So me and you and every member has paid our subs weekly for 13 years. Where do they go, maybe it would have been worth saving some for a future strike fund?
It’s all over the internet, you just need to look and make your own mind up rather than accept what the CWU say at face value.
Not saying what we’ve done wrong just stating facts, read up about them yourself.
