It has to be said that the above is sad, but true. Of all the 3 working shifts at our MDEC, the Late Shift has the largest number of staff, yet probably the lowest union membership.MDEC101 wrote: People at the MDEC (especially plymouth where i work) want something for nothing, they see it why should they pay £11 a month for the union when RM will do what they like anyway.
For many people when they first started work at the MDEC, it was seen as a "stop gap" job for graduating students and school leavers, in reality however, a fair proportion (myself included) have remained in the job for over 4 years.
Its time that we all stand up and fight for a better income and garner the support of our union and its members to demand that Royal Mail bridges the gap between OPGs and MDE Keyers.
