It has to be said that the above is sad, but true. Of all the 3 working shifts at our MDEC, the Late Shift has the largest number of staff, yet probably the lowest union membership.

For many people when they first started work at the MDEC, it was seen as a "stop gap" job for graduating students and school leavers, in reality however, a fair proportion (myself included) have remained in the job for over 4 years.

Its time that we all stand up and fight for a better income and garner the support of our union and its members to demand that Royal Mail bridges the gap between OPGs and MDE Keyers.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I have read all this thread and have but one thing to say...

The best thing I ever did was JOIN the CWU. Though I am stressed out and under attack as an individual who exercises their ABSOLUTE right in law to be both a Union member and an activist within that Union, I have ABSOLUTELY no regrets.

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL AND HAVE FAITH
It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.
