POSTMAN wrote:But Fish, you guys still voted it in! Have i missed something.
Now let's say for instance my place, now we know all the walks ect,if something was put out that the whole office knew was f****d we wouldn't vote it in.
The next question i guess is where to next after that...
What you have to realise POSTMAN is our revision hasn't just crept up on us...this isn't plan A.
Plan A was a 0700 start...a 4.30 delivery...ridiculous walks and 3 part-timers made up to full-time and the part-timers without a saturday off..
Plan (roughly g or h) is a 4.10 delivery, hopefully more reasonable walks,11 part-timers made up,EVERYONE in the office with 1 in 4 sats off(apart from the wallingtons who didn't want it) and an agreement to substantive contracts for all after the 6 week bedding in period.
That has taken 6 months of hard work.
What lets it down and what will in my opinion lead to the failure of the revision is the IWT based on the model weeks 11-17...it is too harsh but if we had changed model weeks we would have lost much that we had gained elsewhere.
We cannot change the IWT only what's put into it and that was checked a dozen times so like you say...then what?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

The delivery methods revison will therefore come in with the sequencing revison.

That is what is happening in my D.O we are a self starter, the plan being from a CWU point of view to get mbrs their £200 and introduce attendance patterns for the membership.

I still don't quite get this regional delivery director - dingo says each regional director had a plan ......surely it would have been the same plan based on the BT 2010..................what is being suggested is that some regions would be treated differently to another leading to yet more fragmentation .............as if we are not fragmented enough.

Model Week and Inaccurate historical MC traffic figures are what is causing revisions to fail. If we are basing revisions on these grossly deflated figures we are doomed to 'flex up' all the time apart from the very very quiet days with no D2D. We have been up and running for 4 weeks now. We all got the £600 this morning. There was a brief feeling of euphoria and then we looked outside saw the weather and realsied that we were never going to finish on time ever again. Yes people could 'work to time' or 'cut off' but at our office we still feel a sense of pride in clearing the office every day knowing that everyone is getting their mail every day. Sick leave has increased dramatically and people moan about aching backs and feet every morning, but we are resigned to the fact that this is the future of Royal Mail and it is a case of get used to it or get out. Maybe we are wrong but there is no point waiting for the union to do anything about. No local rep here anymore and the ADR signed it off without batting an eyelid or knowing anything about what we are faced with. On a positive note we all have 1 in 4 Saturdays off and as much OT as we physically can manage. Now for my Radox bath and double ibuprofen and bed. Only 30 years to go til retirement. Will I make it..... not sure but at least we have a decent death in service benefit now.

What a dismal picture you paint for a young woman of 30, you sound so dejected and here you are looking forward to Radox, ibuprofen, bed and retirement but only if you last that long........... oh dear

She's right though this is the future when you base a revision on the lowest traffic levels...flex up!..f**k off! more like...nobody is fit to flex up or down.

Young? How sweet of you to say smooth talker you. (Actually 37 and feel every year of it) Sorry to paint such a picture....Strangely though I still actually quite like my job - best banter in the world in the morning in the office and then get to be on my own getting exercise and getting paid for it. It's not so bad its just not as good as it was.

Oh I'd go along with the banter jessica and with the fact the jobs not as good as it was - and I only wish I was 37 again. I belong to the generation of baby boomers, those born between 1945 and 1965, I was born in 1946. Those fortunate enough to have been born during those years apparently have had the best working life with the highest wages, best pensions and the highest proportion of homeowners......................there is a down side of course we'll all be meeting St Peter sooner as well :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

Our revision was endorsed by our ADR,,,in fact he made a good show of selling it to the members in the pre-vote meeting....extra full-time jobs you see....our divisional rep was....busy.
I'll vouch for that we have the same ADR and he was in our office to sell ours as well.
Granted the members voted for it, but if there was £800 attached to a no vote the result would have been diffrent.

When this hits London Dingo, You's may be able to stall, eventually RM will push it in. You can strike.....but you's will be on your own this time.
Thats the consequence of this agreement.
and your Members won't like 'enabeler' spans, and rubber stamped planning tools anymore then the rest of us.
