Hi Mate, I am not disagreeing with you, or what you are saying about IWT
I am saying the DSM is just Interested in what IWT says and Nothing else,he blatantly refuses to except that there is work there that is not in IWT.
that's the point i was trying to make and when you tell him you had WTL or anything else for that matter he refuses to take it into account,
He just goes back to IWT says you can save X amount of hours ect ect ect.
We even emailed him the ( I may be wrong on the name of the tool here ) Duty Manager Tool today and said to him thats the duties and what people do in the day.
Well the looney says whats that meant to prove, IWT says you are using to many hours so take some out  , the mans a Plonker.

PS Steviea we are on 8 Hour FT or 6 hour PT days no longs or shorts :shhhhh

Hi mate, not sure where your from but here in the (south) of the N.E region, we have been told we need to lapse at LEAST 10%
of the outdoor walks in every D.O (everyday) from Mon & no ABS O/T to be paid on indoor either, this to be absorbed on the indoor as well. It would be good to hear what other area's are doing - anyone want to contribute? :Very Happy

Steviea

In region and we only lapse one round and only on a Monday and Tuesday.
Saying that there are only 15 Duties of which 6 are PT plus we have 1 in the locker and 4 FT vacancies ( other Offices around lapse more )
No budget cuts in my area that's a big No No, there was a letter about this that went out to all offices as far as i know
saying that budgets would not be a reason to cut back hours in offices, which is why i think the DSM in the area is trying to cut using IWT as his excuse.
Our proper DSM who has been moved temporarily reiterated this at a revision workshop a few months back, but the DSM in charge temporarily seems
to be doing things differently.

You know i am 100% with you on that, It really has left a bad taste in my mouth that the agreement is as 2009 so ambiguous.
I will also say that i admire you sticking by your principles and as you felt you could no longer in all honesty support the leadership and so left the CWU.
Now i know that must have been hard and i felt the same way, but took the alternative view where by i stayed in the hope of changing things for the better
if i could in my own little corner of RM. As regards Dingo, Yes he probably does have an insular view, but don't we all because we all see RM from our own little
universe within the larger solar system that is planet RM. I very much value nearly everything you have to say and at times wish i could put things into words like you and Fishtank do but alas
I'm not that well versed. At the same time i very much appreciate what Dingo has to say, i may not agree with it all but nun the less its as valid as anyone else's. So and its a big SO maybe one day
we will all be in the Naughty Room together and able to sort it all out because in reality like it or not we are all in this together one way or another.

I know I go on about dingo but in truth I think he is one of the few "genuine" union people - I think his loyalty is misguided in the national sense but I don't think anyone could doubt his ambition for the neck of the woods he serves and he is knowledgable, unfortunately he tends to defend the poor aspects of the deal and I know I've said it a million times BUT this ain't the deal of THIS century.
Leaving the union was difficult but my mind was made up, also my ability to defend myself under any circumstances with the limited service I have left made it a not too tenuous circumstance personally. When my service is over I'm going to burn down the naughty room and you will be able to say what you like 'til it's rebuilt.

People working before their time also distorts the figures

I am having a massive row about this in my office in regarding throwing in Prep the leaflets,

I do my job properly but some other person manages to throw 3 off by coming in an hour earlier :arrrghhh

I basically told them i am coming off prepping lapsing walk and going to go on IPS instead after my shift week off

Someone even said I play the game :arrrghhh No I just do my job properly

Outdoor absorption would be less sensitive as Geo Route 2008 has you going to every door anyway,(WSM revision). It needs to work WITH IWT,there-fore indoor absorption should take up the slack. Get in touch with Divisional and look for the IWT course too.

Talked on the phone to a planner today regarding the walking to clear ips frames, and was told that iwt only allows for you to do this once.
Now i do this about five times, if you include emptying my packet bag and that's on each wave 1 & 2.
When i told the planner this he said what's wave 2 ( What is he on ) Manager then loses it grabs the phone and says,
what's wave 2, that's are second delivery of mail how long you been on the planning team ( now the best bit, he's the head planner in my area )
Manager then says he wants to know if we get more time for second wave and he says he doesn't think so you only get the time for collecting mail from ips frame once. :arrrghhh

So now you know, you only get to collect your mail once any more and its in your time not RM's. :arrrghhh

Your "planner is to facilitate you". Your manager needs to know the structure of issues of revision issues.Tell him of the regular meetings with the head negotiators every Wednesday, and pass this up!

These people have there own policies, and every office is over spent. They will do/say this stuff. Remember in your revision make sure what you get and what is in the agreement, there is not a gnats wing of a difference. The mistakes of P&M 2007,(the wost deal of the century), have to learnt.

Was on IWT again today,
Now does anyone know what happens with floters, we have duty covers and we are taking out the IPS if the cover is only on a 30 hour contract but the manager says we don't do that for floaters.
Also we have a floter vacancy, he says as its a vacancy we dont take anything out for that.
Does anyone of you cleaver people know what i should be doing or saying to him about this! cheers.

Also while on the subject of IWT, i saw a colume marked D2D into workload but you cant populate it as its protected. Now the manager says thats because we don't use it as D2D is already accounted for.
But if you read the top tag it says mail not including D2D any ideas of this.

Thanks again
