If they have found a miracle solution to indoor prep through ‘automation’ then they should grant us a shorter working week to reflect that not try and send us out with 6hr30 deliveries. Hard to imagine this working.

Won't it only work if they bring in "Commit to deliver"?dazzler123 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2023, 16:07still cant picture what this entails like others on here (bench merging etc) but what happens when mail is brought back (after people inevitably failing to complete on time), does that throw a spanner in the works?

you would assume so, but in the latest CWU video it states we still have a finish timeSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑29 Apr 2023, 18:37Won't it only work if they bring in "Commit to deliver"?dazzler123 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2023, 16:07still cant picture what this entails like others on here (bench merging etc) but what happens when mail is brought back (after people inevitably failing to complete on time), does that throw a spanner in the works?

I wouldn't put it past RM to bring in "Commit to deliver" at the same time by EAdazzler123 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2023, 18:55you would assume so, but in the latest CWU video it states we still have a finish timeSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑29 Apr 2023, 18:37Won't it only work if they bring in "Commit to deliver"?dazzler123 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2023, 16:07still cant picture what this entails like others on here (bench merging etc) but what happens when mail is brought back (after people inevitably failing to complete on time), does that throw a spanner in the works?

It will be commit to deliver a sack of unsorted mail to try and force everyone out of the job.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑29 Apr 2023, 18:37Won't it only work if they bring in "Commit to deliver"?dazzler123 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2023, 16:07still cant picture what this entails like others on here (bench merging etc) but what happens when mail is brought back (after people inevitably failing to complete on time), does that throw a spanner in the works?

Anyone who thinks bench merging or anything similar would work needs to come and take a look at some of the frames in my office with 2 or 3 days mail in them. Its insane how much mail some houses get, the letters and small packets are just one big mess bursting out the slots and it then takes longer to tie up and everything is more difficult.
And to then imagine all that mail . . . without a frame?! WTF??

I think RM look at it as a way to reduce their estate, merging DOs to allow offices to be sold to developersmjd24 wrote: ↑30 Apr 2023, 16:22Anyone who thinks bench merging or anything similar would work needs to come and take a look at some of the frames in my office with 2 or 3 days mail in them. Now we add in say 10 returning packets every day, that will be delivered the next day, can't bloody move or prep frame as it is - surprised no one hasn't gone flying over the garbage on the floor. Until we are walking for 99% of our day, the idiots won't be happy. Compared with the knackered donkeys carrying the bricks in the heat (agreed by the equivalent of the CWU)

We don't have a PSM but if our remaining iLSM was removed, then they'd have to remove all the CSS machines as well (CSS machines read the orange barcodes, if a letter doesn't have them or they're in the wrong place the CSS will reject them). All letters would go as manual and if they took away the manual letter frames then the letters would get sorted into the packet sleevesdaveyeff wrote: ↑30 Apr 2023, 22:45ok space,,,,,,imagine the mail centre without a LSM or a PSM ...... how would you's cut it?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑30 Apr 2023, 22:41I think RM look at it as a way to reduce their estate, merging DOs to allow offices to be sold to developersmjd24 wrote: ↑30 Apr 2023, 16:22Anyone who thinks bench merging or anything similar would work needs to come and take a look at some of the frames in my office with 2 or 3 days mail in them. And now even less time to deliver mail. Many times you are going to use 2 DIB cards for a single packet now, absolute feckwits running the showANDREW CROCOMBE wrote: ↑01 May 2023, 12:07Now we add in say 10 returning packets every day, that will be delivered the next day, can't bloody move or prep frame as it is - surprised no one hasn't gone flying over the garbage on the floor. Has the trials started in the 8 DOs yet, and if they have, any update on this?
