Sorry this response might seem a bit dissmisive, but this thread comes across like vultures picking over a rotting carcass. the job as you know it is putrifying, little point fighting over the slops.

In our office we are due to have a re-pick, but over the last 6 months we have had 3 -4 quite senior men transferred into our office.Does their seniority count for this pick,or do they miss this one & pick from the bottom of the pile? It is the first re-pick since those guys have been in our office, cheers to anyone who can help
Seniority is seniority, the fact that they have worked in another office doesn't negate their seniority which goes on the date their contract started and they will pick in order of seniority - if they are senior to you they pick before you do - if the shoe was on the other foot I'm sure you would support it.
This is one of the many good things that came out of the Way Forward. Pre Way Forward, if you transferred to a different office, you started at the bottom of the local seniority list.
DOM can you just remind me of a few of the many good things to come out of the way forward :whistle as i am having trouble trying to think of a few myself :cuppa
Paid allowances when sick is another you may like.
But we lost NDA (Night Duty Allowance) and Saturday Premium on Overtime which cost us a lot more.

And overtime rates cut after 10 hrs.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No seriously - you crack me up - so dramatic :left:

I have seen so many changes in my lifetime, some good and some bad, in order to survive you must adapt as quickly as possibly to your surroundings and circumstances, prioritise what is necessary for survival either as an individual or as a group - and sometimes a rotting carcase may be the answer - but a little over the top for the circumstances under discussion I think.

LOOK AT PEOPLES ALLOWANCES IN A REPICK THESE CAN OVER RIDE SENIORITY
IE: IF YOU HAVE BEEN RECIEVING DRIVING ALLOWANCE AND THE PERSON WHO
TRANSFERS INTO YOUR OFFICE DOES NOT THEN YOU GET TO PICK A DRIVING DUTY WITH
A ALLOWANCE BEFORE HE OR SHE CAN,EVEN IF THEY ARE SENIOR TO YOU .
IT IS IN THE MTSF AGREEMENT......

Yep thats correct,we have these duties in our office and they are RINGFENCED ,the holders can only come off if they choose or there duty is lost through a revision and they would then get that allowance for 3 years i think.
