The interesting thing is that Vince Cable has actually cost the tax payer a large slice of cash since the tax paid will obviously have to be returned to Royal Mail as well.
Royal Mail in itself doesn't pay much in the way of tax since the bulk of it's profits are set against ongoing investment using an Annual Investment Allowance so most of the £130,000 that would have gone to the tax man will be used to buy new crayons for the WCM team.

If it wasn't for Vince Cable objecting, then this would not have come to light. He is one MP who seems to be in touch with the common man. When we go over by an hour then overtime payment is queried and budgets are examined as to whether the company can afford to pay us.
