No cascading been happening in our area.
Perhaps brother fishtank an astute cwu union rep would knowingly point the way.
"Today’s workplace has become heartless and soulless. Employees are seen as units of labour, automatons, functionaries, objects for achieving designated tasks, and as costs to be minimised."
To be fair it is happening in the South East And Eastern Regions. The first event was directors and divisional reps then area reps , DSMs and MCMs and then it has to be rolled out to local reps and DOMs and Work Area Managers. Our rolls outs will not be complete till the 25th. But they are happening .
Starts 27th May.....Have we had a letter explaining it...NO!
WTL session on it this week?....No the usual crap of we are all s**t at our jobs and if you don't do x,y and z you will be conducted.

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Just got a letter from RM about it today. It doesn't go into much detail though, doesn't mention the 6 month thing for a start.
Doesn't say much really, does it?
Just that a new system/agreed procedure is in place to start Monday(well Tuesday really), and that managers are now supposed to treat all cases on the individual merits or circumstances relating to them. And, according to my boss, they can no longer be instructed to issue stages by their bosses above them. We'll see.....
An A4 letter and info sheet with pop out office telephone number to introduce the new agreement- yet after much joint agreement babble they fail to actually to say what the agreement is or tell you what the new 'clear' attendance standards are.
Maybe the story I heard is true about a branch official saying that they are worried members take even more time off when they work out its 6 month and clear.

Its a little more complicated so that gives unscrupulous posties/managers more scope to fiddle the system.
The contact requirements at first glance seem more restrictive.
After 6 months of being on a stage you're clear, but if your not on any stage its still a rolling 12 months (this is where the dodgy ones can perhaps play the system) although any sickness in the 6 months should count towards the rolling 12months its not very clear.

Are you permitted any absence within that six months in order to clear a stage warning once the six months have elapsed?

No you are not permitted any absence - but if you do go sick then the 2nd stage is triggered by 2 absences and/or 10 days. However for ease of reference here is a screen grab of the new standards

Could you tell me where I can find the rest of the 'new attendance procedure'?
I'm currently searching on here to find it but this is the closest I've gotten so far.
