You must have a car with an analogue Speedo. Depending on the manufacturer, they can (legally) exadurate your speed by up to 10% (and some are out by that much), so if it looked like you were doing 42, you could actually be doing 38. Most (but not all) digital Speedos are accurate to + or - 1 MPH (because it has to round up or down your speed to a whole MPH)

Not on my motorbike. My digital speedo is over by at least 10% all through the speed range. Brand new bike as well btw

Sounds like a Gatso catching someone going the other way.. Shouldn't be flashing towards oncoming.

There are forward facing cameras (Truvelo) but they use infrared flash, which you wouldn't see.
