Know what you mean FT:

Like all wage slaves, he had two crosses to bear:
The people he worked for and the people he worked with!

Just ask yourselves a question.
Just say that eight walks, walk out your office door, is a fooking re-sign, re-pick, call it what you will, gonna make that much difference to what will become an even shitter job than at present. Well, will it? :hmmmm
No, of course not. :cuppa

Spot on FT, it is not the DOM who needs to be monitored, he is after all bound by the agreement BUT if the member(s) wants to be considered as DDA or FF, HE is the one who is the most likely to want to exploit any loophole possible. As for full or part time it wouldn't matter as far as service is concerned only the duty - take for example an old chap of 60+ who's had his fill of delivery with 25 years service and wants to do the callers office on a pm duty, he is full time now BUT the new duty roster has the pm callers shift down as a 6 hour duty - up pops an other, with 10 years service aged 35 with a 30 hour contract, the geriatric is out in the cold. The duties are agreed under the IWT and the hours have to be in accordance with that. Now say the Rep comes up with an alternative of two extra hours for the old guy and the DOM disagrees, both people are members of the union and so have to be treated equally by the Rep. That is of course only an example, there will be other scenarios familiar to reps across the land.

Not resign info but covers off what happens when duties become vacant

When it comes to vacant FT duties and they are advertised internally then they are open to all FT staff and PT staff who have opted for full time employment and will be filled on the basis of most senior individual.

Ive now been given the green light to have my desire to return to a permanent FT contract granted so will be applying for vacant FT duties that are currently being advertised.

Watch out for MTSF in re picks that haver come about through revision activty especially for OPG's/duties getting a allowance. DDA is disability discrimination act. These should be dealt with prior to the start of the repick so that what ever jobs go into the repick are then picked on straightforward seniority order.

Its not as simple as what Postman and Daz states. It will depend on if your manager or even an opg is alive to MTSF2. If they are then strictly speaking it states that those in reciept of a pensionable allowance the longest will have first selection.

Personally speaking I do believe it should be length of service but MTSF does cloud the issue with regards to shift and driving allowances.

Family Friendly issues - which may or may not involve children it may just be a caring for someone elderly. There needs to be a list of seniority of course but some duties could quite easily be "tailored" to suit an individual in the new duty structure that without just cause for refusal would be difficult to overturn.
Wouldn't bank on this!

If the case is good enough then RM have to try to accommodate, as in the case of accepting change, a simple no is not acceptable.

Thanks for the info Big Daz. DDA now clear, can you challenge such a post? i.e The guy with the "Bad Back" that's been given an easier duty, who regularly humps overweight bags about! :mad I presume first port of call is your Rep, not trying to stick the knife in but there's always someone that's taking the piss, and I don't see why they should get an easy ride out of it.

To answer Dirty Harry's point: People in my DO are VERY keen to get the correct seniority because they want a Rural delivery where they're on their own in a van (for whatever reason :whistle ) instead of being in a 2 man team on Poop n Scoop, possibly working with someone they don't get on with. I agree with you that we're all still going to be out working our tits off but at least they'll get a duty they're half happy with. :Very Happy

Just like to add my 2 penneth if I may.........the agreement states that any duty which does not constitute as having mayor change does not have to be put into the re-sign if the current holder of said duty doesn't what it too.
Definiction of mayor change:
30 minutes or more time change to said duty
and
more than 25% content change of said duty

The seniority means sweet f.a in my office, if you have kids ,cant drive or are in with the managers you are sorted, people with 20+ years of service getting pushed down the list coz their kids dont need picking up by them ,one bloke with 14 years service is now a leave reserve as 3 people leapfrogged him and took the last full time rounds coz they dont drive a lot off pi**ed off people and nothing you can do about it :evil/mad and the way the rounds are put together here (because as you know everyone we employ now is on a 20 hour contract)all the best floater jobs are done by 20 hour employees.Heres to starting work 3 hours later what a fu**ing treat
when i am king you will be first against the wall
with your opinions which are of no consequence at all
anyway im cutting off
