Re: Negotiations updates gone quiet
The union bang on about how we don't get paid enough and bang on about the cost of living crisis.... but they take 3 months to get us a pay rise. Get a move on. I can only afford to have beans on toast every dinner time.

That’s the caring thoughtful company u work for, it’s hard to negotiate with people who don’t want to negotiate with you.

Re: Negotiations updates gone quiet
I can see it where it is going. Like mentioned before, cwu is pretty much powerless now. We will soon be reading about our pay rise from the papers and it will be the minimum wage going by X% from April. As long as we are paid by the hour, if minimum wage is enough to cover your expenses you can just clock in and out and do what you can in the allocated time and go home.
We should be now accepting that this job is gone to the wall and it will be just another crap job paying minimum wage with no future, no progression or any care for the workers. It will soon be attracting people who are unable to do anything else and just need whatever money they are offered to get by. Staff rotation will increase significantly and service is going to be non existent unless it is already at rock bottom. CWU will be a thing of the past.
This is the future. I am no longer looking forward to any updated or hoping of any meaningful pay rise. If it happens and when it happens it will change next to nothing. My only saviour would be the VR offer but that is not going to happen whatever package they would be offering.

You are 100% correct and sadly I would likely leave for free but it would be nice to receive a bit of cash before I slam the door behind me, wouldn't it?TopperGas wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:08There's nothing stopping you leaving for another job?blacov wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:05I can see it where it is going. We're already been told there'll be no redundancies in our DO, which seems a bit surprising given that for every 4 posties role they will be reduced to just 3 roles later this year.blacov wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:10You are 100% correct and sadly I would likely leave for free but it would be nice to receive a bit of cash before I slam the door behind me, wouldn't it?TopperGas wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:08There's nothing stopping you leaving for another job?blacov wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:05I can see it where it is going. Re: Negotiations updates gone quiet
My DO is gone quiet on this but if there will be any offers, I expect a stampede. Realistically speaking there will be none, they know we will start leaving for free or retire early. We will be replaced with people on inferior terms.TopperGas wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:18We're already been told there'll be no redundancies in our DO, which seems a bit surprising given that for every 4 posties role they will be reduced to just 3 roles later this year.blacov wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:10You are 100% correct and sadly I would likely leave for free but it would be nice to receive a bit of cash before I slam the door behind me, wouldn't it?TopperGas wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:08There's nothing stopping you leaving for another job?blacov wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:05I can see it where it is going. Which was always RM's plan even before we were privatized - new owner will just go into overdrive...we all know it we all see itblacov wrote: ↑24 Jun 2025, 18:05I can see it where it is going. So is that like a protest thing, and you're intending to rejoin at some point soon? Seems rather off if people are leaving the union permanently.SPECIALTRACKED wrote: ↑23 Jun 2025, 19:53Already have, £10 a month is mini pay rise that’s how bad it’s gotpostman2014 wrote: ↑22 Jun 2025, 21:07Everyone should just temporarily cancel their union payments until they start communicating will their members! They seem to forget who actually pays them! Cancelled my payments and they won't be getting another penny until everything is sorted. If we all did the same they would buckle after a week!

Re: Negotiations updates gone quiet
Could RM be going to declare the excess staff as supernumerary and move them to DOs which are short on staff?
