How can you think people will survive on no money
You borrow money if you can, you use a credit card, if you have good friends or family ask for help, you bump a few bills into the later pile and live on soup for a week.
You do what you have to do.
It'll be tough but it's best to step back and get a sense of perspective.
Many families have to live like that every single week in this country because their employers get away with screwing them over.

If it is to be a week long strike then that what I’ll do.

To those who say they can’t afford to do that , I feel for you/

This job will not be worth doing if rm get their way , you won’t see that family you’re working for , you’ll be like a workhorse for rm until you drop and your life will revolve around the job.

You’ll be working for free at times and those bullying managers will only get worse.

Our next action has to be absolutely massive and send a message that there’ll only be a Royal Mail with us.

Heard same round our office, probably people willing it into existence. That said, a 4 day strike could see a fair few really considering crossing the picket line.
why would anyone cross the picket line ? Even if we are struggling financially this is s**t or bust for us now !

imagine having no union backing, the managers are bullies now can you imagine what they would be like with no restraints ?

Why not 6 days of disruption…..
Mon-processing
Tues-distribution
Weds-delivery
Thurs-processing
Fri-distribution
Sat-delivery
Massive headache for RM over a week but only 2 days lost per function.
Better if you have
Mon & Tues - processing
Wed &THurs - distribution
Fri & Sat - delivery

If we need full weeks as a last resort then save that for December with a week out for processing followed by a week distribution and then a week deliveries.

We haven’t even done 2 days together yet so let’s not get too carried away with the talk of all out for a week. I would play it calmly if I were the union, couple of days here couple there unless they want to do the rolling stuff. I would save the week long strike for the end of November/start of December and see if that focus’s minds at RM.

Good advice and if you have a mortgage you can talk to your lender who will accept lower payments for a month or two.
Get a 0% credit card so you don’t end up paying lots of interest. There are things you can do to ease the pain- I’d rather those struggling did this than cross the picket line. Don’t let these fcuk wits win.

If performing the job meticulously to the book(working to rule) stopping all goodwill which we have all given to this company, ceasing to work day's off, overtime etc, isn't a good idea, then maybe a full week on strike will, I'm just glad I'm not the head of the Union devising a strategy which will actually work I'm just really angry that all of the great work we provided during the pandemic means fck all to the money grabbing btds running RM

I think it’s now reached a stage where our only option is to walk out for at least 4 days in a row. Might aswell make it a full week. I can’t afford to do it but I absolutely will. Even a full week might not make a difference but at least we will have put up a fight.

Because a 4 day would wipe out a full weeks wages for a lot of people, myself included. I've come to realisation recently that I wouldn't judge anyone who has to make that difficult decision, we don't know what crap people have going on in their lives. There has to be a better way.
A 4 day starting Friday and finishing Tuesday wouldn't.

What about the Rowland Hill fund, is that still a thing for those that are financially struggling?
