Bet you whinge to a manager about others being crap and slow too. Your a job wrecker and Simon Thompson loves you.2yearpostie wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 19:05Generally start an hour early, finish an hour early, the working duration is the same.toonshola wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 11:49Incorrect. No com is going to speak to Bob and say please stop giving me free work in the morning, they love it. We should all be politely pointing out to these people that starting early for free affects everyone. It makes us who start on time look slow, potentially stops part timers being made to full time, and if enough posties do it they will inevitably come to cut hours out the office. It’s selfish and there is no good reason for doing it. If you worked in Asda you wouldnt start stacking shelves 40 mins early so why people do it here I just can’t get my head round it.2yearpostie wrote: ↑28 Sep 2022, 13:53Thats for the com to worry about, not the people on the floor.sorefeet17 wrote: ↑28 Sep 2022, 13:12It will affect them though when hours are taken out of the office because the true figures are being fudged.2yearpostie wrote: ↑27 Sep 2022, 17:19And here lies the problem with the company, if everyone focused on what they were meant to be doing rather than what everyone else is doing, then forget about the place when they get home everyone would be happier rather than obessing on stuff that doesnt affect them or things where they wont know the whole situation.

And here lies the problem, in theory yes that's fair but these days maybe not so great as we're all aware RM are only concerned with the finishing time which is recorded by our PDAs.2yearpostie wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 19:05

I wouldn't go by what that regional manager said. With SISO being a national thing, any decisions about what will change, if anything as a result of SISO are very likely to be taken by managers above his level of management2yearpostie wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 08:31Regional manager says its cool and nothing will change with SISO.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 08:12And here lies the problem, in theory yes that's fair but these days maybe not so great as we're all aware RM are only concerned with the finishing time which is recorded by our PDAs.2yearpostie wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 19:05

Hmm....so the regional manager says finishing early is cool, not convinced myself, how does that fit in with that other recent post about "data mark" or whatever his name is who's job is sitting in a room with his team analyzing PDA data.

I read something about a year ago which said the average British worker does approximately seven and a half hours of unpaid work a week. I know many people in other jobs who either start their work early or stay late unpaid, I think it's a bit of a myth that only in RM this happens. Personally speaking I think people on here have become so fixated with this issue they've lost sight if who the real enemy is. Even if every single RM employee came in on the dot and finished on time we would still be in the exact same position as we are now. People need to stop nit picking their colleagues and focus on the real battle, all this so and so came in 10 minutes early, Derek did 2 columns of d2d instead of one or Sue only took 35 minutes meal relief instead of 40 isn't getting us anywhere.toonshola wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 11:492yearpostie wrote: ↑28 Sep 2022, 13:53Thats for the com to worry about, not the people on the floor.sorefeet17 wrote: ↑28 Sep 2022, 13:12It will affect them though when hours are taken out of the office because the true figures are being fudged.2yearpostie wrote: ↑27 Sep 2022, 17:19And here lies the problem with the company, if everyone focused on what they were meant to be doing rather than what everyone else is doing, then forget about the place when they get home everyone would be happier rather than obessing on stuff that doesnt affect them or things where they wont know the whole situation.

Data Mark and his team of "scientists" in their room at Mount Pleasant are collating the evidence for the big guns to say otherwise as we speak...2yearpostie wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 08:31Regional manager says its cool and nothing will change with SISO.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑02 Oct 2022, 08:12And here lies the problem, in theory yes that's fair but these days maybe not so great as we're all aware RM are only concerned with the finishing time which is recorded by our PDAs.2yearpostie wrote: ↑01 Oct 2022, 19:05

Re: Can anything be done
Ok this is getting silly. No personal abuse includes calling someone thick. From this point on all posts, I think that cross the line will be deleted without explanation. Repeated offences will result in a board warning, and if you continue to ignore the rules it can result in a BAN.
1. This is not to stop free speech, in fact, it's to protect it. If the abuse goes too far and becomes endemic people will stop posting and RMC will no longer be the valuable resource it has been for a decade and more. Its also not impossible that if we allow it to continue RMC will be shut down by RM taking legal action.
2. It also protects your job. We are in a period of tension with Royal Mail and if you go too far on here, and, you are known you CAN be dismissed for what you post on here. This has happened before.
3. If someone keeps posting on here and its winding you up then stop seeing their posts by using the Friend Foe feature. ucp.php?i=ucp_zebra&mode=foes . If you think they are trolling remember the golden rule
