How much did this man scrounge off the taxpayer for his disastrous 37BILLION Track and Trace failure?
Why's he even got a job? Any job?

In my years in various jobs I have never read anything written by the top man that resembles something written by a 14 year old. I'm dumbstruck. I think the CWU need to find some school kids to ensure negotiations are on an equal level. They could play video games to decide which side wins.

Once we discover how to turn passive aggressiveness into energy, Royal Mail will be the new Saudi Arabia.

To be fair to the guy, I believe this is a transcript of what Simon said to camera on the RMTV propaganda service or Workplace and not a written piece.timbo1234 wrote: ↑29 Sep 2022, 21:17In my years in various jobs I have never read anything written by the top man that resembles something written by a 14 year old. But, at the end of the day, I think the suggestion of a referral to ACAS is just a stalling tactic. Surely ACAS would have expected there to have been extensive talks and negotiations to try to resolve or at least narrow the issues in dispute before they get involved? There's little evidence that there have been any serious talks so far at the most senior level within Royal Mail with the union.

I am just a humble postman but I know a few people with good jobs in very senior positions and comparable pay scales.
All of them would be utterly embarrassed to admit that for their income they are unable to manage basic negotiation and important structured conversations without asking for a third party to help.
It’s beyond belief.
That’s before you even dig into the thinly veiled “think about affordability” schtick.

Wtf you on simon's wages ffsnorris9 wrote: ↑29 Sep 2022, 20:529 days isn't hard. 1 or maybe even 2 of those days will probably be on people's day off. Some may even have annual leave.
He really does think we are peasants who can't afford 7 or 8 days off. That shows you how badly we are paid.
I'd happily take the whole of December off to strike.

He won't last, and he knows it. He's been down this road before, nice pay off bye bye, move on and repeat.
God knows why big companies employ wasters like Thompson.
The pressure we exert will get rid, I'll give him 6 to 8 weeks

True. But you also have to look at the bigger picture.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑29 Sep 2022, 20:56Then you are an exceptionnorris9 wrote: ↑29 Sep 2022, 20:529 days isn't hard. 1 or maybe even 2 of those days will probably be on people's day off. Some may even have annual leave.

Most of the unions argument is our people are struggling through the cost of living crisis and need better pay
How does that tally with people like you saying you would happily lose a whole months pay?
Losing pay should not be treated lightly - its a sacrifice
If striking - even over a protracted period - ultimately results in an additional 2% on basic pay (over and above what was imposed recently) and that's worth £10 per week, then a postie with 10 years until he reaches retirement age gains £5200 of pensionable pay by striking.
In that context, losing 15 days pay in 2022 is a price worth paying

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
