8% without any changes to terms and conditions would be a real terms pay cut. I certainly wouldn't even consider voting to accept that.

What's the problem with them just employing part time Sunday workers or offering overtime to us on Sundays. It's most likely due to reliability...but he's going to cause too many problems for himself forcing us to work Sundays as he'll lose workers. He'd be better off finding a Sunday workforce than getting us to do it for him.

and the issue isn't just having to work Sundays.... we'll be working until maybe 6pm on both Saturdays and Sundays. Your Saturday afternoon will disappear too!

At the end of the day I am not even sure he wants all these changes with the way he's been playing games. The CWU have said very clearly that Thompson wants a takeover and breakup of the business which could mean parcel deliveries could go to the GLS part of the business.

For me - right now this isn't money or terms..... this is Takeover and break up of the business or us stopping that from happening.

How exactly are we going to stop that from happening? Given that we didn't stop privatisation?

If Simon wanted to stop VESA taking control of the business he could possibly antagonise the unionised workforce to such an extent that prolonged industrial action was inevitable. Any potential buyer might regard the basket case of a business as not worth the effort and decide to invest their money in a new striker for West Ham?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Or use the resulting chaos, and consequently the lower share price, to takeover on the cheap
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
