Do you really think he is going to turn up? He is playing games with you and I can almost guarantee the Friday and Saturday strikes will be called off as a good will gesture, before it goes to ACAS. We haven’t got the clout like the RMT have. We are too worried about upsetting the public. So what if we upset the public? It’s our future, not theirs, we don’t have time to talk to them anyway. Half of them don’t even know we are striking. They really don’t care. We need to get a grip and stop caving in. Are the RMT and Mick Lynch worried about what the public thinks?
Bang on!!
I’ve seen this “ACAS” tactic before
it is stalling from both sides.
Strike WILL BE OFF
cancel your weekend plans now.

Thompson has proved himself to be both dishonest and untrustworthy, and this offer to meet is nothing more than a damage limitation and PR exercise from him. There isnt enough time for anything to be discussed that would give reason to call this weekends strikes off now. A 'goodwill' gesture to call of this weekends strikes will have Thompson laughing behind all our backs, don't do it......

Strike will be called off Fri & Sat as a “goodwill gesture” & some snivelling waffle about “giving ACAS a chance”

I knew it would be bottled. Said it from day 1

You heard it here first.
That’s the spirit .

If Simon would like to give us something as a goodwill gesture then i'm prepared to call off this weekends strikes while we talk. How about £1,000 and some shopping vouchers :whistle :whistle

Not a chance the strikes this week will be called off.
It would be suicidal for the CWU to do so without an agreement and solely based on trust.

Lets hope you are right , we dont want Dave Ward waving a piece of paper around declaring "PEACE IN OUR TIME" , its a ploy to stall strikes again until after xmas which would be a waste of time ! :no no :no no :no no :no no :no no :no no :no no

No way should any of us be fuc*ed around by calling off strikes the day before. Like we all have to sit around watching social media like fkin muppets and waiting to be called in on a whim. ...honestly they can fk off if that happens.

I'm resigned to losing the money in solidarity, but I've arranged to actually do something for a few days and that's what I'm doing.

Yes correct! it is a ploy to stall the strikes (and from BOTH sides)
I’ve seen it before in another industry, the “ACAS Olive Branch” trick, as old as the hills

Just a good deal please.

If Dave Ward does any deal with Thompson when we are in such a powerful position to force that dick out I'm leaving the Union.

Keep our foot on his neck Mr Ward, we'll be his bitches forever if you don't.
