I'm not sure what worries me more, Simon or the obsession we seem to have with people coming in early, it pops up on almost every thread as if it's a newly discovered secret.
Yes people come in early.
Yes it's been happening since the beginning of time.
No it will never change.
Have asked this question on the Angard thread but I was the only one in there . I have a shift starting 10pm Thursday finishing 6 am Friday. At what point am I strike breaking? When do the RM night shift walk out?
We still had posties coming in half an hour early this morning, one came in @ 5:30 for a 7am start
same here what a shower of dickheads ! running around like headless chickens , working the breaks . One person who tried to scab (again) has even managed to have his days off swapped to this friday/saturday ! I feel ashamed for them.

who are these people...
Do they have ridiculously big jobs and have been bullied into coming in early by management because they've been told they are underperforming?
Do they like to come in early because they like chatting to customers / having numerous breaks during the day?
Are they just so damn slow that they make up for it by coming in early?
Maybe these early starters aren't actually doing extra free work, but are just damn slow.
Its nearly always posties with more years than most that come in early, suppose they could never get out of that habit
unpaid ! one woman in particular in our office has been giving RM 2 hrs a day for years , she runs around and makes every walk look easy , they add to the walk then she fooks off onto another walk leaving the person who takes over that walk ( and does the job properly ) in deep s**t !
Only this Saturday coming the 1st of October, after that there is no more planned daytime strike action for any Saturday or Sunday.
A great way to cause division.
There will be resentment towards those not losing money especially if they are in during the week making most of the overtime.
Well played cwu

You aren't
Night shift will start there strike on the Friday night
Well done union, youve put 115000 people on the dole, good show.
If you really think that then I'd suggest that you write to the CEO explaining that you personally are prepared to be his bitch and pander to his every whim without question or complaint. You will do as much unpaid overtime as requested, and then a bit more to prove what a valuable employee you are. You are happy to have your pay cut to minimum wage, no sick pay if you are ever ill and you aren't really bothered about holidays either.
If you are right and the action of the CWU really puts 115,000 people on the dole then I'm sure that Simon would happily employ you in whichever company he moves on to next. You will have played an absolute blinder.
Personally, I am quite happy to predict that Royal Mail and its 115,000 employees (well 114,999) will still be here long after Simon has moved on to other challenges taking his new personal bitch with him.

As with the previous strikes, it starts at 4am - so as your shift started before that time, you complete it and you're not breaking the strike.
You become a strike breaker if your next shift falls within the 24 hour period (4am to 4am) and you go in for that shift - so say if you were offered a shift to start 10pm Friday, that would be during the strike so going in would be crossing the picket line.
