We shouted long and loud accusing Si of chatting with Vesa, and it was flatly denied. Are we all just accepting of senior CWU officials doing it then? I'm confused. What on earth would the union have to gain from such talks?

It was explained the government is looking in to RM dealings with vesa and Terry had a shareholders meeting with them months ago,seems your looking for dirt that isn't there.

We are fighting for our livelihoods and all some people want to focus on is a meeting. Whatever happened at this meeting which has been explained makes no difference to our fight. Let RM worry about it, oh wait they won't since they arranged it. You'd almost think there were some snakes on this site.

It would have been appropriate to say to the members that the CWU have met with VESA and we can confirm that this is how we KNOW Royal Mail have been in contact with them.

This whole thing stinks. I’m not going to pretend to know what the CWU talked about with VESA but Dave Wards explanation yesterday was strange and he gave little detail about why they met or what was discussed. And Pullinger going on the sick at the moment this all comes out looks very bad.
Might be nothing but something isn’t right here and we need a proper explanation from the union.

We need honesty and transparency from our elected officials.

Think its pretty obvious that the groundwork for a probable VESA takeover has been ongoing for a long time now and presumably the CWU are duty bound to have had some input into those talks. The whole process will be bound by confidentiality of course and so its not incumbent on the CWU to break that agreement. Looking as though Super Si has been a bit disingenuous again with his interpretation of events.

Possibly but why would Dave Ward have had to find out from the Chairman that these meetings had taken place?
