Think some posties will be spooked by the 9 days. Especially those who don't know what we're really fighting for, and don't understand the scale of the changes RM want.
But I also think most will stay strong.

The only worry there was the possibility of that TUPE revelation that comes into play later next month. Should that come to pass, presumably only happens if a takeover happens quickly, would that null and void what we are trying to do??

I should think we would be out out if they pulled that one.

It would also null and void what Simon and co are trying to do. Who knows what the intentions of any interested takeover group are.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

My concern also is that some might be disillusioned by losing a lot more days pay than others, but it's really end game now.

Royal Mail Communications
New strike dates announced by CWU
We are very concerned that CWU has announced further strike dates today rather than taking up our suggestion of talks through Acas (the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service) to resolve our dispute. Once again, CWU has chosen to take the path of prolonging disruption over resolution.
CWU has today announced that it plans to take a further nineteen days of damaging strike action during October, November and December. The action will be a combination of single days and rolling action across the network. The full list of dates announced can be found below.
This is in addition to three days of strike action already taken, and a further two days planned for Friday 30 September and Saturday 1 October 2022.
This is a significant escalation designed to inflict significant damage on our company, regardless of the implications for their members’ jobs.
We are losing £1million a day and must change faster in response to changing customer demands. Further strikes and resistance to transformation by CWU will only make our financial position worse, will drive away customers and threatens job security.
Unlike in other industries like the railways, our biggest customers can switch providers at the push of a button. If they cannot rely on us to deliver their products, that is exactly what they will do.
We are in constant dialogue with Acas who have made contact with the CWU. Our invitation to enter into talks through the Acas process remains open. Our people need the CWU leadership to recognise the reality of the situation Royal Mail faces as a business, and to engage urgently on the changes required.
We have extensive contingency plans in place to minimise disruption during industrial action and we will continue to do all we can to support our customers as much as we possibly can.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I agree, it does look a lot to give up as a whole, however I think everyone needs to take things one strike day at a time and especially stay strong at the start of this period - because that’s the way to, hopefully, make the following strike deals not needed because a deal has finally been reached.
Ultimately, this is the deal breaker period right here - if there’s no sign of movement after this period then… take up Amazon’s sign up bonus and work for them over Christmas

Takeovers don't happen that fast.

In June RM lost their appeal to the Supreme Court against their £50million OFCOM fine so it became payable along with interest and OFCOM's legal costs. I wonder if they included that in their supposed £90million loss in the quarter to the end of June.
