Have you thought about leaving Royal Mail and getting a different job?

If you don’t like it what’s the point of working in the job.

There are lots of other opportunities around.

From mine and many other posties perspectives, we have invested our working lives at Royal Mail. We are Royal Mail. We shouldn't have to think about getting a different job, the cun*s who have fu*ked up our ability to perform our work under decent and proper conditions should be the ones looking for other opportunities, ideally as far away from us as fkin possible.

Every year since I started it’s been getting worse

Agreeing to sdd agreement told me what was coming

This point in time with our company has been planned for years do not think otherwise
The day they scrapped our so called monopoly is a joke as well
Do Amazon not have a parcel monopoly now ??
Only way to stop corporate greed is to renationalise
And with the shares so cheap now would be the time to do it

Ive seen the same people year after year playing the system. It pisses me right off. 6 months full pay? They are laughing there ass off whilst the genuine postman, who still has pride in the job and earns their wage, struggles to cope with the workload, get moved about constantly and stresses out coming into double mail every other day. Royal mail need to take equal blame for these work shy, weak ass, thinking about themselves, bell ends and send them packing back to the dole que. The business will be better for it.

I think most offices have around 10% ish off sick, we're all exhausted, walking round with injuries, I've had a lump on the back of my heel(is it my achillies?), since February /March, it's so painful, but it never gets any rest.

I had the same thing by the sounds of it, getting gradually worse for a year or more. A pair of Sketchers really helped and after a couple of months it has completely healed. I hope you might find the same benefits.

Well like I said the Money is the main reason.But I've been in to long to just walk away now.Possible fear of trying something new I have no qualifications.in an ideal world I'd be here to the end in the vien hope that we get taken back by the government and it can somehow resemble the job i/we used to have.But I'm not stupid I know that won't happen.p.s I've done 28yrs and I'm 47 so not done anything else work wise..

I won't get sick pay but at least my body will thank me for the few days rest that I'm looking forward to during these strikes. There are a few guys that often put down additional weeks annual leave even though its unpaid because they want more time off from the business.

Personally, I can quite understand why our sick levels are quite high as I'm sure many of them are genuine. The job is constantly repetitive and you're on your feet all day in all weathers. Excessive lapsing and Royal Mail having all these grand ideas that mean we spend even more time walking the streets pushes a lot of posties to breaking point.

I left and became a delivery driver for Iceland( now with asda) the money is s**t, but it's stress free and a piece of piss. A lot of the time I'm just sat in the van watching netflix on my phone because I'm too early for my next delivery. I've been at asda 2 months now and on 2 occasions I've had a 1hr 30 min wait for my next delivery.

The shift pattern is terrible though, I worked for Sainsburys driving and was out until 11pm some days.

Had knee pain a while ago just came from nowhere got to be the amount of walking,it took nearly 2 months to subside and delivery was a nightmare,just a few weeks ago hip started hurting and another bout of pain on delivery,i'm starting to think this job is slowly killing us all,its not surprising there is so much sickness.

all due to incompetent management (all running their own sections to suit themselves to detriment of office)
unequal workloads ,special deals for favourites , unrealistic expectations of others
im sure its the same all over

I think all offices are run that way. The worst idea in history was to have a manager do his/her section it just doesn't work. One manager is competing with the other one to see who has a clear section, its impossible sometimes due to sickness levels.
