It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If you're reading this Si, do us all a favour and do something constructive instead of pussy-footing around. :arrrghhh
According to Ward he has been insider trading, having secret talks about breaking up the company and derecognising the CWU.
How much more constructive do you want him to be? There are only so many hours in the day.
Insider trading would usually involve buying shares just before you are going to announce good news driving the share price up (then usually quickly selling to crystallise a profit) or, alternatively selling just before announcing bad news which will drive the share price down, sometimes then rebuying.

If Dave Ward really believes that Simon has been doing this then he'd better have some really good evidence to back that up or else we need someone who actually knows what he is doing running our union.
It's possible he could be shorting the company. Unfortunately goes on quite a bit!

He is a bit like a facebook saddo that puts things up to see how many likes he gets, if he doesn't get too many he deletes it. I wonder what a psychologist would make of his behaviour? I wonder if he was an only child or bullied at school? He appears to have an issue making friends, out of over 115,000 staff, not many actually like him and that's quite sad. Maybe we should all send him a christmas card this year, make him feel a little more popular.

Empowering Party Time is how they describe briefing us about forcing in change.

I feel empowered about the strikes and will have a fun party time on the picket line next week.

What a back slapping exercise that would have been, you know for sure that any negative voices would have been 'cancelled'.

Thompson and his cronies are not fit to run any business, they fail to see the huge disconnect they have caused between his fantasy management away days, and the real world of a thoroughly pi**ed off workforce due to his lack of management skills, and bullying behaviour.

We need to strike during christmas pressure for a full week with a work to rule ballot result in place for the days following strike days so its carnage. This will make an impact more than single days here and there, We need to have maximum impact and send a message to the shareholders that this ass oil and his cronies are unfit for purpose, then they might vote the sc....um out!

Agreed.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

The share price is going down so Super Si will no doubt be buying plenty soon just in time for a good news bulletin.

Any COM with a bit of sense and foresight(sic) would look at that and realise the shitshow heading towards them if the senior managers get to have “their business to run”

Difficult I’m sure when you’re getting handed shopping vouchers and £1000 blood money but we would actually be in a stronger position working together with them in dispute if Unite got their fingers out their arses and pointed out the big fast train coming down the track towards them.

Glad that all 3 of them came to the management-brief orgy.

What on earth is "party time". Have they brought cheese and wine with them to celebrate the deliberate short selling of Royal Mail's share price?
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

It's hard to believe somebody actually thought it was a good idea to post that slide on Workplace.

the xmas card thing isn't a bad idea. Hello CWU.
