Bali postcard arrival 'mystery'

A postcard from Bali has arrived at a Worcestershire home despite not having an address written on it.

The card, labelled only "Terry, Sue and Jodie", arrived safely at the Smith family's home in Chaddesley Corbett.

It was sent two weeks earlier by staff at a hotel on the Indonesian island where the family stayed over Christmas.

Postman Wayne Geary recognised the family's names, but he is perplexed by the postcard's arrival at the Kidderminster sorting office.

Royal Mail believes the postcard, not even marked "England", may have originally had a label, which explains how it arrived in the UK.

But Mr Geary said without this label he did not understand how the postcard then made it to Kidderminster.

"I have no idea how it got to Kidderminster. It's a bit like the Twilight Zone really. I just do not know - it's spooky," he said

Perhaps someone in Kidderminster removed the label to create this incredible story !
It's probably the biggest thing to happen in Kidderminster since Roland Hill of that town founded the Penny Post 168 years ago.

I have sorted postcards like this arriving from abroad without much more than a name.
It probably got to Kidderminster because it arrived in a batch of other postcards mailed by the same person, for other addresses in Kidderminster.
The sorter would guess that the unaddressed item was also for someone in the same post town (probably put in the postbox by mistake) and that a postie in that town would recognise the addressees name (or the senders name) and ensure delivery, or if not it would be killed off as undeliverable.
Not X File stuff unfortunately.

It ain't but Hereford and Leominster both have pubs that do Brains and they are not far from Worcester (approx 30 miles) still doesn't change the fact its a good pint.

Yes, I forgot, I've been to one in Hereford, out of the town centre by a main road.
