tracked items
hi! i am trying to to find out what happens to these new items (they have purple tracked stickers on them) in different offices, in ours there seems to be a blanket policy of give it to a driver no matter how small it is but if you watch the royal mail propaganda plasma screen it shows a walking postman delivering it so if anyone could say how it goes in their office then thanks very much and yes i am a driver who does not want more work

In our office if they don't need confirming that day then the walking posties take them and F/L if they cant hand over. If they need confirming we cant do that same day (due to distance of walks from DO) as we don't go back. Saying that I have not seen any purple ones ever.
When we get these walking scanners we will probably have to take them, apparently they work using the mobile network or satellites or little green men, not sure how

The tracked items at our office get scanned by the manager then given to the appropriate posties/drivers, if they are returned they go back to the managers to be scanned in as not delivered, item being held in Callers, trouble is they get left by the managers on there desks as they have'nt arranged for anyone to bring them up to the CO, we only know about it when the customer comes in and we can't find there parcel
They have 4 dedicated scanners for tracked parcels in the managers office, apparently they ordered 1 for the CO over 6 months ago but it has failed to turn up.

Lucky you, all of ours are given into the RLE for scanning, if we have not got enough to dok66yla wrote:The tracked items at our office get scanned by the manager then given to the appropriate posties/drivers, if they are returned they go back to the managers to be scanned in as not delivered, item being held in Callers, trouble is they get left by the managers on there desks as they have'nt arranged for anyone to bring them up to the CO, we only know about it when the customer comes in and we can't find there parcel![]()

If these are the same as S/D's then they are delivered unless you tell the system otherwise. The only way these are tracked once on delivery is when they are back in the CO. Please tell me if I'm wrong.
P.D.A for immediate confirming signed/unsigned bar coded items by the Delivery Person.
I see that the business has changed the well known name of these new devices to suit themselves. P.D.A = Personal Digital Assistant and not Postal Digital Assistant as they call it
