They don't use the barcode, they use the RFID chip in the ID cards. The PDA used in the DO will need to be modified to be able to read the RFID chipsR5001 wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 19:01As I understand it, it'll scan our ID cards (Thought they read simply as "firstname.lastname" so it wouldn't' be hard to photocopy for shenanigans).
You can skip typing in your name on the PDA using that barcode (Point at ID card and hold scan button). I can imagine it saves people who aren't great at typing fast or have complicated names a little effort.

Wasn't aware they even had a chip in them, but that would be harder to clone at least.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 19:37<snip>

When you put your card on the reader to get in your office, the reader is reading the RFID chip.R5001 wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 19:43Wasn't aware they even had a chip in them, but that would be harder to clone at least.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 19:37<snip>

You should have RFID scanners above whatever door the mail entering the DO from the MC goes through. If you look at it when you pass through with your ID card, you'll see the light blink

I wonder how many offices have absolutely none of that?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 19:51When you put your card on the reader to get in your office, the reader is reading the RFID chip.R5001 wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 19:43Wasn't aware they even had a chip in them, but that would be harder to clone at least.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 19:37<snip>

I'd imagine every office has an RFID scanner.

Re: SISO killed the Docket Feind
It is not based on RFID.
It's simply a barcode scanner.
It's simply a barcode scanner.

They may as well not bother then. By using a barcode scanner it's way too open for abuse. What's to stop one person scanning the whole office in and out

The DOs are supposedly going to be using a PDA so no camera on itdenhamhoop wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 20:40The camera that is attached to the SISO oh and even Royal Mail Managers would notice the majority of the staff not being inSpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 20:31They may as well not bother then. Do you really think that local management will bother to enforce it if it makes it easier for them?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 20:54Dismissal?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 20:31What's to stop one person scanning the whole office in and out

Re: SISO killed the Docket Feind
Is there going to be some sort of clear rules explained on this?
Consequences if you forget to scan in/out?
Being solely responsible for your own barcode?

No doubt there will be a few morons who do this, cut every corner then slag management off,
If you do, make yourself familiar with form P45.

Re: SISO killed the Docket Feind
How does this actually work then? You arrive and sign into PDA straight away?
Does crack me up there are those on here nieve enough to stop the early starters and ghosters. If you owned a business, would you stop people coming in early if they so desire? I'd tell them to crack on all they want. As for ghosting, simple fact is if it stopped virtually nobody would do any overtime and countless walks would fail. It'll be used to go after those they feel are sand bagging.
