Just deleted one thread where someone had posted abusive messages about our strike.
Unfortunately quite a few of you fell into his trap and responded with abuse.
Please try to avoid doing this for 1 very important reason, and a few less important ones.
The important one: If a manager can identify you abusing someone online could lead to you being DISMISSED. It's not worth it.
Please just report it and leave it to us Moderators to deal with him.
The other one is that I could have just deleted his rubbish and banned him. Unfortunately so many had replied to him all I could do was deactivate his account and delete the whole thread.
The bosses are watching us closely, do not play into their hands.

If someone sees an abusive post, they can click on the button with an exclamation mark on it. That'll flag it up for TBT and Postman to look at (think they're currently the only two mods)

Re: Warning - Responding to obvious trolls
Just another point to add here.
Please do not call anyone names for any reason. Even something as mild as "spineless" is likely to cause others to respond. One thread I have now deleted descended into calling people morons.
No, while I understand the feeling behind those statements, you have to remember that we are in the spotlight of the right-wing press and using insults against people that have a different opinion than you, only feeds their narrative.
So to avoid headlines such as "Union Bully Boys" or "Far Left wing Forum is agitating for....." please insult no one, even if it is very mild.

Understood. I allowed myself to get wound up by it, which I have to say is out of character. Evidence of the stressful situation in which we find ourselves, I should think.
