Overtime is a choice, not a compulsory element of the job.

Re: Overtime Ban
This is what I meant when I said we need to hear more from the union. We’re getting to the stage where people are confused about what to do next. The way it’s worded makes it look like if you are refusing overtime in your office, Royal Mail have reason to invalidate the ballot. Royal Mail playing the usual blackmail card.

If RM wanted to be a successful functioning business nobody would be working overtime to begin with.

OK that is one union, and the biggest, so where is your evidence for every other union besides ours and Unite?

Re: Overtime Ban
I think you have to be on strike for a certain amount of time before a hardship fund is due allocation

Re: Overtime Ban
As a rule striking workers do not get paid by there employers. If the industrial action being taken is santioned by the Trade union then the union has funds that ensure that the workers are paid for there actions. This may not be as much as the worker would have got but it might be in the long term. Do workers gain lost wages after a strike?

Re: Overtime Ban
OK two, there are more but they are the exception, there are around a 100 unions great and small in the UK, and I'm only guessing here but I reckon the majority don't pay strike pay, some like ours will have a hardship fund for members in genuine need, but for you to make a sweeping statement in your post that "Every other union pays out" is not helpful in the current climatehans solo wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 18:43unison provide same strike pay confirmed from my better half schoolteachertheargyspy wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 18:07hans solo wrote: ↑04 Sep 2022, 18:01unite pay members under 18g per year£50 per day
