correct our office will clear on ot today, people starting early , working days off even their saturdays ffs
RM will be keen to keep strike going as its saving them a fortune in full time wages
if overtime continues there are a few of us reconsidering our positions re strike action
WHATS THE POINT of losing money for our colleagues to scrounge up lost hours
this needs looked at asap
overtime and goodwill actions should have been the first things to act on
we are selling ourselves off simon doesnt need to do anthing other than let us implode
I wouldn't worry too much about all these people suddenly doing O/T, i'll wager they have already begun to cry off now that the backlog has hit and they realise they are going to have to graft very hard, especially if they are working in an MC.
People like this are always looking for an "easy" earn, the minute they see 650 yorks of unprocessed mail racked up for them, they'll be off with some "emergency" excuse like a rat up a drainpipe. :chuckle

Apparently Royal Mail are trying to invalidate our ballot due to some offices refusing to do overtime and in their eyes taking unofficial industrial action.

The same Royal Mail who sent their managers a briefing not to offer any additional overtime to people who were on strike?

Good luck with that one

And some say they are happy to let us carry on striking. RM’s problem is theirs 2 live ballot’s if somehow they managed to get 1 invalidated (which I doubt they will) we can use the other. Would probably have to reballot again though but hopefully this time they will put the work to rule bit on the paper as well, not sure why they didn’t with these 2.

Do you know how difficult it is to get some to take a break/meal relife some just work through it and how will you enforce work to rule?

I know, I know. But if this legal challenge is true (and I have no reason to doubt it) it would stop it in its tracks.

Well it is better to strike and support our union fight we don't want or should not destroy the ROYAL MAIL but plenty above are doing so with impunity a company is worthless without a workforce!

Is it possible that they're actually trying to get both ballots invalidated? It seems strange that they'd just try and get one invalidated when the issue applies to both ballots

Once a strike has been called an enacted it is legal no one to my knowledge has exceeded the terms of the ballot! Plenty of fish hanging work to rule on here without a ballot but it is what it is fiction go read a novel and escape your minds!

I think the Union needs to be more vocal. Not hearing off
them often enough. Most of the news I’m getting is through here…

My best guess is this is a show in solidarity and it has worked asking to derail RM at this time of the year is a non starter my hope is we the union and the management reach a deal years ago I lost Saturday allowance but got a day off none of these things would happen without engagement. Time comes around like a clock it is only those who are ahead of time who foresee the future!

When the CWU notified RM of the strike, did they specify which ballot it was under?
