Re: Major disruption
Covid made people more aware of the more important things in life away from working, many over 55's retired.
I have seen several articles about people 'quiet quitting' which is where people stop going above and beyond and focus more on their lives outside of work. I think a lot of people at Royal Mail go above and beyond against their will. Posties go over time to complete to avoid harassment from management, when they'd rather spend time enjoying their afternoons and evenings.
We graft too much, graft until the grave opens up. Slaves to the money then we die.
Enjoy these strike days off with friends and colleagues on picket lines and then enjoy time with family.

But if you don't stand up for yourself you might not have the thing that pays you!!!2yearpostie wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 19:12Thats all ive tried to do since she moved in with me after my dad died and all ive tried to nudge people on here to realising that at the moment any job even ones with terms that are worse than previously are is still worth having. No point trying to break the thing that pays you.postieblueshirt wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 18:46well good luck to you make your mam proud..or take her out every sunday spend some time with her.2yearpostie wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 18:41No only my mam to look after, im single otherwise, Quite happy to stay working and put the £££ in my bank for old age.postieblueshirt wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 18:21Well I presume your going to work to make money to support a wife/partner and children or maybe you have a boyfriend/civil partner and you have fostered children. So I'd say spend time with them instead of work work work,in my opinion that's why Sundays are a tough one to give up as we are all off together.p.s I have wife n 2 kids and I'm week to week BUT il get by on the bare minimum if I have to I still have pride and self respect..

Re: Major disruption
Some of the views expressed on here are absolutely shameful. Gutless people who have no self respect, no values and a complete lack of morals. They hide behind lame excuses. If workers do not stand together to fight for hard won rights then never mind food banks we will be having workhouses and debtors prisons.
These people want others to stand up for them but will accept the rewards if any are won. There, there mummy's here.

That's the bottom line. These people want others to stand up for them...
They are frightened of their own shadow.
They hide behind the pretence that they are conscientious workers trying to provide for their families but the truth is anything outside the status quo terrifies them.
They will accept anything to remain in their bubble.
They are worse than cowards because they lack the honesty of a coward.

I’d much rather you join the docket fiends than the strike breakers..Numberone63 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 15:58I’m supporting the four days of strike but if there are any more single days I think I’ll be going in as I can’t afford to loose any more money and have the overtime wallers make it seem like there hasn’t even been a strike.
Striking isn’t only about trying to cause a backlog. It’s about having big commercial customers pressure RM to “sort it out” so that they don’t have to tell their customers that they can’t guarantee delivery next day / in two days because they use RM instead of DPD / Evri etc.
Why do people find that so hard to understand?

That’s just it, they don’t understand the bigger picture-or choose to ignore it. It’s imperative that we all stand together, RM will have to renegotiate eventually, it’s a case of being patient. Strike breakers WILL NOT help the cause. If you are struggling financially do some o/t FFSLaggyBand wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 20:49I’d much rather you join the docket fiends than the strike breakers..Numberone63 wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 15:58I’m supporting the four days of strike but if there are any more single days I think I’ll be going in as I can’t afford to loose any more money and have the overtime wallers make it seem like there hasn’t even been a strike.
