IHR will not be scrapped but if the proposed changes went ahead you may lose thousands of pounds.

New proposal = 34 week payment minus weeks on sick leave

Persons on sick leave with Mental Health issues will be the severely affected because there is no definitive timeframe unlike physical impairment.

Let’s hope our Union don’t back down.

Its to stop people taking six months off on full pay then taking IHR, understandable on their part but it catches the genuine people who want to return to work but cant.

Given current waiting lists on the NHS it could take 6 months or longer for any sort of diagnosis from a specialist to tell you if you if you are able to resume your current employment role and then a bit more for RM to decide whether they can find a suitable role within the company to facilitate any disablement your illness or injury you may have before IHR is considered.
So the new proposals seem very unfair to those people with genuine cases.

Agree the NHS is a joke. Trouble is the job is hard on our bodies and there are very few inside jobs for those whos knees wont take it anymore, maybe the company could pay for a private diagnosis to speed it up or give us free insurance im sure thats one answer to the changes they want in the IHR.
