Why would any Postie help clear any backlog. Goes against us striking. The company needs to suffer.

Aren't we getting a back payment soon due to this 2% pay rise we have got?
No they took back the advance in pay this week.

We have one guy at work, having a go at people picking up overtime, telling people what's the point of striking if you do that, telling them don't start early, don't rush about, take your break, bragging about working 3 of his days off so he don't loose any money. If you strike, don't do any overtime, if you do then striking is pointless.

So confused by this whole back pay 2% thing.

The lump sum we got a while back- wasnt that a back payment to start of April to equal what we would have earned had we had the 2% rise at the start of April?

So why would they take that back?

The £200 was an advance, it was to help us through the cost of living (an inducement for us not to vote for strike action) they always said once the pay award was actually given and all worked out then any adjustments would be made. What would have been better is if they had not given us the advance and just given us the 2%, back pay etc this week, it would avoided lots of confusion but as I said the £200 was a bribe. It backfired anyway.

our office is now clear after the 1 day strike, apparently it was very busy sunday for those volunteering to work :arrrghhh
i get that some if not us most can't afford to lose pay but it's kinda deflating when some are actually up on their wages even with the strike loss money, no work friday but paid the sunday premium rate, but guess they'd still do it for single time and add an hour or 2,
unless an overtime ban is balloted & voted in then we will struggle in this dispute, they will quite happily accept 1 or 2 days disruption if all clear after 2 or 3 days and also saved fortune in wages
Ours was clear on tuesday even had time to lapse 3 walks guys clearing next day and people starting early complete waste of time

Are you serious… 6 Days… do you really think that with the cost of living that won’t do more bad than good… the more consecutive days in a week we strike the more people will cross the picket line and go back to work… it needs to be one or two days a week maximum, I think most people would agree with me… 6 Days to me is would be nearly £950… that I can not lose in a month

You currently are contracted to earn £158 a day?

I dont think you need to worry about a payrise - thats more than a COMDOM gets
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Everyone knew this was coming MONTHS ago.
There should have been a minimum 4 day consecutive strike in September as it is a month with 5 pay packets.
Building up to a longer strike whilst do-able, will be harder to get people on board, though I still think it should happen.

The strike breakers had better be prepared to be treated like s**t by their colleagues for the rest of their working lives. I hope that they think it is worth it for a few days pay. They are prepared to shaft the rest of us so I will have nothing to do with them other than to report every single misdemeanour of theirs to management.
