Re: Next Strike Dates
Think we should do a Thurs,Friday,Saturday, then Monday ,Tuesday ,wednesday following week,,, alternating between, processing network n delivery,,, only lose 1 days pay a week to cause a lot of disruption

Re: Next Strike Dates
I think all parties should get back to negotiating and see where that leads first. More strike dates then if the CEO and Co aren't willing to give us the acceptable pay rise and terms and conditions we are happy on.

Re: Next Strike Dates
dingo/Martin Walsh posted something on here about the alternating between different sections. we can't do it that way because a lot of D.Os are situated inside mail centres now and it would mean posties crossing picket lines at mail centres and vice versa, and it would cause some legal wrangling which could jeopardise the strike mandate.

Re: Next Strike Dates
our office is now clear after the 1 day strike, apparently it was very busy sunday for those volunteering to work
i get that some if not us most can't afford to lose pay but it's kinda deflating when some are actually up on their wages even with the strike loss money, no work friday but paid the sunday premium rate, but guess they'd still do it for single time and add an hour or 2,
unless an overtime ban is balloted & voted in then we will struggle in this dispute, they will quite happily accept 1 or 2 days disruption if all clear after 2 or 3 days and also saved fortune in wages

Re: Next Strike Dates
enough negative talk about next strike dates, we have still got this week and next week to get through, a lot of people would rather both parties got round the table and got a deal struck, its not a bloody game we are in, its peoples lifes affected by this u know

Re: Next Strike Dates
I don't think there is any harm in looking for where the future strikes are going.
It's undeniable that at the end of these 4 days of action many members will have sacrificed over £300 in income, whereas others will have done OT/swap deals/had the luck of losing far less or indeed nothing.
In my view, if no movement after these 4 days then the strike dates for the T's and C's need to be 3-4 consecutive days.

Re: Next Strike Dates
This needs planning around, there’s too much disruption potential with relative low loss to members, we could do this every week and all only lose one day.daveyeff wrote: ↑30 Aug 2022, 19:03dingo/Martin Walsh posted something on here about the alternating between different sections. we can't do it that way because a lot of D.Os are situated inside mail centres now and it would mean posties crossing picket lines at mail centres and vice versa, and it would cause some legal wrangling which could jeopardise the strike mandate.
There must be a way around the picket line issue. Surely all the union need to do is advise all participating members that if they are not due to strike they absolutely must work else thwart the whole plan, like I said we could almost have continued disruption for not much loss, it’s our one trump card we have being in the network business we are in.

Re: Next Strike Dates
I totally agree but it also brings a legal clause into it by doing it this way, according to dingo. Don't know what that is though. Maybe he could clarity it?

Hit them hard and hit them fast, hope for a quick resolution. Tickling their armpits won't get us anywhere anytime soon.
