Advantages RM has over other "delivery" companies

Post by Kenfandango »

Okay this thread is mainly directed at the higher ups in RM, who I suspect stalk this site and hate us all with a passion.
What sets us apart, currently, from the other "parcel delivery companies" Simon so wants to ape?

My main one is that if something valuable can't be delivered, I get a nice little card with an address on it that I can go to and collect... Ever missed a DPD delivery twice? I have, and it meant my new phone was returned to sender as there was no way of rearranging delivery or going to collect.

DPD always seem to knock and run, whenever I see them.

This is pointless, Royal Mail don’t care about good standards and customer satisfaction anymore, it’s all about profit, we haven’t provided a decent service for years , they are happy for us to behave like a yodel or Hermes as long as they make profit for the fat cats.

As far as I'm aware Royal Mail make significantly more profit than other courier companies in the UK, but they are always talking about what our competitors are doing and having to match them on every stupid little detail such as taking photos on the doorstep.

Whatever our competitors are doing we have to copy it.

At the end of the day what's the difference between delivering a parcel between us and them....not much, apart from the fact that other couriers are more likely to doorstep...

In a way I am surprised RM haven't asked us to doorstep yet. I guess they insinuate to do it by pressurising us to go faster or telling us Jeff can do it faster than you so why can't you be like Jeff..... well, probably because Jeff doorsteps, idles and skips his break.

You'd think instead of just doing exactly the same as other delivery companies we'd try something different.

Maybe deliver by 930am as normal , none of the other companies even leave there depots until 10-11am.

Instead of being leaders in the industry have always seen Royal Mail to be followers. Other couriers been using scanners long before us but that’s probably our fault as well according to Simon.

Knowing our customers and what they want.

Which includes having more than 8 seconds to stop and give them the time of day.

They want the good PR that comes with “owning the doorstep” and “your friendly lovable postie” but don’t want the inevitable cost involved.
Which is sickening.

Their recent advert for parcel collect which included “they’d love to stop and chat but are busy” was f***ing pathetic.

They don’t care. They’re obsessed with Amazon, that’s all. incompetent at their own roles. They try following the latest Amazon trends years down the line too late.
Royal Mail has the infrastructure, unfortunately it’s ran by clowns at the top.

Collecting from a local delivery office was an advantage for customers, but that's virtually gone. the amount of angry people we have daily in the yard after the 10am cut-off.

Advantages?
Not many nowadays, and the few we do have left are about to be pissed up against a wall by that massive bellend, Simon Thompson.
