He should be spending his time convincing the regulator to significantly increase the price of stamps to reflect the huge cost that this obligation imposes on the business.
I am not sure what you mean by significantly increase.
Have you seen the price of a first class stamp now?

If they doubled the cost of a first class stamp what do you think the effect would be?
Might it mean even fewer people using mail as a means of communication and actually reducing our revenue?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Relatively few "people" use mail nowadays except to send greetings cards which cost several times the price of a stamp. Most letters are necessary communications from businesses and commercial organisations which have already tried to switch to electronic correspondence wherever possible.

We should be charging a proper rate for access mail.

Who knows, we don't have the financials at hand.

But the company seem to hate having to deliver mail for some reason, they prefer parcels. I would love to know how much letters makes in profits for the business. If it's not profitable then there's no option but to increase prices. Are we charging these companies that send out junk mail enough? I doubt we are charging ~£1 per piece of junk mail when they are sent out en masse, they must be getting deals based on volume. A massive chunk of what I deliver a day is junk mail.

Makes me laugh when people go on about letters and the hierarchy wanting rid of them.

They generate about 3 billion in revenue, a 1 percent saving on that earns them 30m.

If Saturday letter deliveries go then that is worth millions🤷‍♂️

I agree but we should be making money on the items we deliver for other competitors not subsidising TNT post or Uk MAIL. Because of failed regulation just like the energy market it is broken and needs fixing not fleecing the workers or the nation!

The guy must of read too many harry potter books as a kid £1 million a day. Maybe he could save the day and work for free and save the business a million pounds!

That’s what they should be focusing on.

I’ve no idea why the union never mention it either

Why does no "journalist" ever ask about the £400 million they have literally given away, strange he never mentions that himself. How many shares has he been given and does he own himself on top of his ridiculous salary and bonus? What was his percentage pay rise this year?

All on top of the business he is running losing £1 million a day, he's obviously pretty terrible at his job.
