You do all realise they want you to strike so that any pay award above the current 2% is either partly or fully self paid for. Ie any rise you get will be paid for out of the money you would have earnt had you not been on strike.
Please show your calculations to prove your assertion. Or are you just trying to wind people up?
If you don't you'll just be emphasizing to everyone that you are trolling, and not offering a different opinion.

He technically has a point each day we don't work we are giving 0.38% of our yearly wage back so just with these 4 days it's over 1.5% we are giving back
Calculations as a full timer we earn £25201.80 a year, we earn £96.93 a day based on normal 5 day week before tax etc, so yes effectively the money saved can be used to offer us a payrise which we will be paying for ourselves

For the first year and the first four strike days, but for a payrise we're talking about year on year, it's cumulative.
Granted so are the number of strike days that may happen. But don't forget we're fighting (as our predecessors did, not only in RM but
the union movement as a whole) for those who come after us too. So who's going to blink first?

Thank you. Someone who understands maths.
Better than RMC's very own Lord Haw-Haw spouting Royal Mail propoganda about why the strikes are pointless, so we may as well all give in now and prepare to be analised.

The first 4 days hve (kindly) been worked out as 1.5 %, I image the t&cs strike will also be 4 days, so thats a 1.5% increase for 2 years paid to the company by strikers. I doubt the company forcast much beyond 2 years at present.

Apparently RM have said that the cost of the strike is £100 million (£10 million letters & £15 million parcels per day). Given the rough calculation of £97 per postie per strike day x 960000 (1/6 on a paid rota day off) is approx £9.5 million. It would still be costing them £15.5million per day on their figures.
They obviously don't want to do a deal & their strategy is too break up the company for more money (massive dividends etc).
Not sure anything is obvious, given they couldn't even introduce something like Photo Capture without making a harsh of it, I'd be surprised if they could organise a break up of the company.
It's also the customers they lose in terms of posting sending items they will find other firms to do it cheaper but just getting strikebreakers will not solve this. The damage is being done by the management of the whole company at boardroom level it is a s**t show of how to run a business!
this won't be easy, we could lose 100's but probably 1000's by the when it's sorted
don't let the bastards grind you down
In time we will get that money back over accepting the offer/imposition by Royal Mail it will be hard for us all we need to look at the bigger picture for us all fights are not easy. But fighting now and drawing the line in the sand saying we are not backing away will send a message to the leaders of the company and the government. But we can all say we did our part not just for our rights but against all that is wrong in this company and country of our nation we cannot change the world but we can all change the way the classes above us think about us all.
